I waz at beach n suddenly this wave spalashed me upto my waist line(cell was in my pocket),although i ran out of water as fast as i could bt some water manages to peep inside my cell phone,i immediately opened it remove battery..cliensed it witha soft cloth n clean my sim card also..afterwards back home i plugged the charger for whole night to dry off the moister from inside the cell body..now even after two days..it behaves like dis.. when i place the battery in its place..it automatically starts in vibrator mode(my last phone setting) keypad appears not working.. it doesnt read any sim card(insert sim msg keeps flashing) emergency calls is all that i can make..that too when sometimes keypad functions ON ITS OWN ! my cells keeps on switching on/off automatically.. PLEASE HELP.I realy need this cell. what went worng? how can i cure it to work properly.. please help..
Hi, It may never work again BUT!!! Take the battery out, take the phone apart as much as possible and place the phone on a register vent with the fan switch set to ON or in front of a fan for about 3 or more days and try it again. water usually does not hurt electronics as long as there is no power to it and it is dry when you put power to it. If this even happens again, Get the battery out of it as soon as possible an DO NOT REPLACE IT OR TRY TO CHARGE IT until it is completely dry. Water and powered electronics do not get along in any way shape of form. Especially salt water. You will probably have to replace the phone. Your saved information may be on the sim card.
