Hi all, i ve a problem with my Sony KDF-50E2010, its bought nov.2006.... what happen is the TV is on for approx 5min, then switch off itself.. can see the led flash:- from green,red,green,red,green,red,green (3x red between the interval)then stop for a sec, then same sequence again, won t turn back on by remote, unless turn the main grey switch off then back on, then the tv will work for 2-3 mins then it will happen again... is that the bulb need replacing or something else?? pls help

If your set was manufactured around July 2005, you may need a firmware upgrade to solve this issue. On the Sony website you can enter your model # and serial # to see if you TV is affected. If so, it is easy to have done and may be free from Sony. It sounds like the issue they described in the writeup on the required formware update. I had mine done within few months of when i bought it (purchased in Dec 2005) and it has been working flawlessly since.

Hold The Off Button for 20 sec should make clicking noise switch off at power and on again should be working

If you bought it brand new from a dealer, I would take it back or have them come out and look at it. Less than a month old, it is still under the 1 year MFG warranty or the very best a 30 day one.

there seems to be a possibility that your ballast might defective.. i recommend you replace it. It might not have enough voltage to keep up with the new lamp
