It appears your telephone service provider has turned on voice mail service. We recommend you turn off that service by contacting your service provider.

Regarding the Philips SE445 cordless phone/answerphone. I posted my problem where it rings 4 times then continues to ring without cutting into the answerphone. My phone is now fixed and working as it should which is great. I was unable to make calls because I had no dial tone and although Virgin checked my line and said it was fine, it obviously wasn't. The problem was with the line in the Exchange Box - the big green boxes that are located on the roadside - the line was broken there. Once fixed, I had my dial tone and the SE445 is working perfectly. To nomad1066, I would insist that BT check their Exchange Boxes as this is probably where the problem lies. Check whether you have a dial tone. Hope this helps.
Go into setting, then into diverts, then into voice calls, choose diverts then down to off, you can switch it off or on but not adjust the time it runs
