No screws need to be taken out on a Kirby for a belt change. Take the nozzle off, remove the base plate with the 2 twist locks, pull the brushroll out. Puton the new belt, and re-assemble. Twist the belt lifter around the belt, replace the nozzle, spin the belt lifter back, and go vacuum

The belt is part of the pump that delivers the cleaning solution according to an unverified source.. You might query Hoover.

My belt on my Bissell Pro-Heat Shampooer for the pump keeps coming off.

Question edited for clarity and typos.

Did you 'replace the belt 2 times' with a new one? If they stretch, they can come off.

I replaced the belt on my 1978 Kirby 3CB shampooer and it keeps coming off the spindle of the vacuum? The shampooer attachment is not that old and hasn't been used much. Everything is clean too.

From my memory of a Kirby I had in the early 80s the belt has a twist in it. It has do go on the right way. One way pulls it on, and the other throws it off due to the rotation of the motor shaft.

Replace bel

There are 6 screws on the hood, remove them. Unscrew the cap which holds the red x in place and remove. Gently pull up on the top housing and it will come off. Remove the 4 screws which are on the pump and slide the pump out, install belt and reinstall

Bissell Proheat Shampooer

Take off belt cover on the left side of the top cover, turn cleaner over, take out screw from red lock and remove, pull cap and brush roll out, unhook the cogged belt, then you can replace the pump belt thru that opening. Put belt over the pump pulley and stretched to go over the motor shaft. Then check the cogged belt and the cogged end of the pully to make sure that there are cogs, replace belt if there are cogss missing or belt is broke, if no cogs on the pulley, then you will have to replace the pump. Pulley only comes witht he pump.
