SOURCE: Sylvania 6842PF M screen turning dark red

This sounds like the color processor IC is not working properly. If this is the case you will have to have this checked by a qualified technician.

SOURCE: comcast remote code for sylvania

I have the same problem. I found that there are many Comcast remotes by the way.

I called Comcast and they had no clue. But I called Sylvania and their reps were FABULOUS!!! Turns out, the TV makers send the cable companies the frequencies for each TV then the cable companies send them to a 3rd party to get the codes written.

This model of TV is new and there is no code written. The rep suggested that we countinue to check back on the Comcast website regularly to see if the code is posted. She said that the sales reps tend to get the info last.

The Sylvania rep anticipates a new code written soon because this is such a prevelant problem.

Black and white picture with red lines vibrating with sound.

More info would be nice. Are you using HDMI or Component cables. If it is component cables (red, blue, green for video white and red for audio) Check your red and blue connection. Green alone will give you a black and white picture.
If you are using an HDMI cable, replace the cable to see if this changes anything or if you have another tv swap cables to see if problem stays with tv or moves to another tv.

Have Samsung HLN567W and recently started having

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

No picture, just coloured lines

The panel might be broken, but you should check the LVDS cable inside the TV:

We have a vertical green line on the right side of our screen. We can get rid of it by moving the picture over but then it is off center.

any verticle bar which is blue, red green about an inch wide can be fixed by replacing a control board in the set. Board number 6871QCH038C. Can be ordered through Parts Store.com for about 112.00....easy to install yourself, located behind two larger boards which are ribboned together. Takes about an hour.

Hooking up Coby Csp-94 Speaker to HDTV "no directions"

The green, black and beige cable is non-standard and proprietary meaning that Coby has defined their purpose which hopefully is described in your user guide. It would be worth a few dollars to buy the properly color-coded cables to uncomplicate your setup. Buy cables (or cable sets) that have the same color coding as your TV jacks along with the cable suggested below.
There are several ways to connect to an HDTV system and these are normally standard as previously described.
The red and white are for right and left channels and it isn't uncommon to see a three cnductor cable with one not connected since one of the methods of connection is to supply audio via two cables, video (composite) via a 3rd which is plugged into a corresponding jack, normally colored yellow. Audio cables aren't really required to carry the mix of much higher frequencies of composite video.
If you have the following connectors, try this:
- S-Video (this does not contain any audio information and requires an S-Video cable) - Right (red) and left (white) audio paths.    The S-Video connection provides a better signal that gives you a noticeably sharper picture. This setup is selected from the TV's input source menu.
