I have a JVC GR D60 which I asked a previous question about. Basically it was working fine one minute and then suddenly for no apparent reason would not work with either battery or direct power (AC adaptor). When plugged in and trying to switch on, there is no response whatsoever, no light , no electric or battery seemingly. Does anyone know if there is another battery inside or perhaps a fuse which is dead or blown? I don't want to pay a lot to fix it as it is old now, but I would like to at least retrieve my cassette which is trapped inside. Thanks for your help.

wipe the contacts with after shave solution or isoprophyle alcohol, this may do some magic

SOURCE: E04 Error

Eject tape leaving cover open and remove battery. Re-insert battery and re-insert tape also leaving cover open. Keep repeating this process until eo4 message disappears. This worked for my GR-DVL100e after about four repeats. After getting your camcorder operational, they say it is good practice not to leave tape in camcorder when not in use.

Tape won't eject on my jvc gr-d60. help please.

Remove battery
Press and HOLD Eject as you place battery back on (so its the first command it recognizes with power) and try to eject. If it does not come out, camera will need service to remove tape or fix gears

JVC has received reports that in certain circumstances, the following models may, while in the camera mode, show no picture, a distorted picture and/or display “LENS CAP” even though the lens cap is removed. We have identified the probable cause as a failure of the CCD image sensor. Repairs of units exhibiting these problems as a result of a defect in the CCD image sensor will be made free of charge at a JVC Authorised Service Centre even if the unit is outside warranty.

See if your camcorder is listed on the JVC site for free repair...apparently this was a common problem.

Blur in viewfinder

Hi, i had the same problem and was suggested i visited the JVC website, this could be the manufacturers error reported on their web site. Failure of the CCD image sensor. Check JVC UK web site, support centre, if your camcorder has the problems listed, until 01/10/07 they will cover repairs. Mine now works ok. Hope this helps
