Hook-up strategy I have a Samsung DVD-V4600 Player/ VCR Combo and want to connect it in a way that I can record a channel and watch a show on another channel at the same time. The Player is currently receiving cable service through a digital box. Thank-you.

OK I will try to explain this...You need to go from your OUT TO TV output on your cable box and split that line so you have 2 lines coming out, then you can hook one to your vcr and one directly to your tv.Then you can watch tv while you are recording something on your VCR.I hope this helps

Using your DVD-V4600, how do you play a vhs tape on TV? Need step by step instructions.

Hi,
In order to watch either DVD or VHS on your TV ,you need to make the following connections ..
  • You need to connect "DVD Player / VCR Combo" to" TV " as (Audio/video output of DVD Player / VCR Combo -TO- Audio/Video input of TV) ..
  • use either "RCA analog (red/white +yellow ) " or "SCART "or "Optic " cable.(any standard optical cable )...if exist ,optic is the best way to connect it..Remember your DVD Player / VCR Combo 's "OUT" goes into" IN "of the TV ..
  • pls also remember, wherever you connect your DVD Player / VCR Combo on your TV ,you should switch the source selector accordingly to correspond to the connection on the back...
Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please

VCR shows tape is playing, but no picture or sound.

Hello,

First, you need to check if the cables are properly connected to the television. Then you also check if you have your television on the appropriate channel that is to work with the DVD player/VCR combo for instance the AV channel. Then you can further try to change the cord used in connecting the DVD player to the television, if it does the same, then the problem is most likely from either the DVD's Audio Video port or from the Televisions Audio video port.

Have them both checked to detect which is faulty, and replace with the same type of port where fault is detected.

Take care and good luck

Vcr/dvd won't play

You may have to buy an RF modulator ($20.00 at any radio shack or wall-mart) this will allow the hook up to work! ( has a channel 3 or 4 selector switch!)
I hope this is of big help!

Poor viewing with VCR

how do you have the combo connection and dish network hooked to the tv ? if you have an s-video , yellow RCA jack video or component video hooked to the same input then it will act this way, because two inputs cannot be on the same video input # on the tv.
is this what is happening? or how are you connecting it?

Record from VHS to DVD

i should imagine so if they are not copy protected films i.e shop ones .if they are tv films on tapes etc then it would be possible to do so.
via insert the vhs tape and insert the blank dvd in to its tray
play the vhs tape and press rec to record on to dvd .
although the manual might give a better guide to doing this .
