Hi, according to the wiring diagram of this unit, the mute wire (brown) is active when you connect it to ground (chassis), so if not used it could be left disconnected because commonly there is an internal resistor to +12V, but it should be wrapped with electrical isolating tape to avoid any contact of bare wire to chassis during car motion.

Had extra wires not hooked up on my mp5720 jensen pink and brown any ideaes

the Brown wire controls the mute function on the aftermarket hands-free kit, Pink Parking Brake wire coming off the back of the unit. This is a safety feature that only allows you to view video while the car is parked. If you wish to bypass this the wire, then it does not need to be connected.

What do you hook the mute wire to a ground or 12v positive?

Hi,
Normally this wire is already pulled up to +12V with an internal resistor, so you can leave it disconnected but isolated with tape.

I have an audi a3 2005 but my CK3100 wont mute when taking calls??

Has your 3100 ever worked correctly since being installed? Can you give me more information about how it was installed (professionally or by your self)? Often times when these are installed the mute wires get connected (Mute 1, 2, and 3). These are unnecessary and will often cause problems because many stock radios don't have a dedicated mute wire. If you are able to get to the wiring disconnect and tape up the mute wires. Did that solve the problem? If not and if this also came on after a time where the Parrot worked correctly, it could be the blue box or the mute cable (the one with the wires that go to and from all the speakers with the black box on it) have gone bad. I've installed many of these without issues. I've also had to replace brand new ones after people installed them and connected the mute1, 2 or 3 wires. If those mute wires are connected to the wrong wire in the vehicle it can allow current to flow into the device causing it to damage itself damaging itself.

Is there anyways to override the parking brake line on a jensen vm8113

g brake line is just an earth, its a safety precaution so you dont watch and crash, if you want to have it play while you drive simply earth that wire somewhere else. connect it to the earth on your dvd player itself that will trick the system into thinking the park brake is up.hope this helps and please drive carefully :p

Stuck mute

I had the same problem. Deatache the mute wire. That is for cell phones. I think it is the brown wire but I cant be sure. Look over the wiring diagram and it will say Mute. Don't wire this wire in.
