Reinstall the WiFi driver:
Lenovo Support Drivers Software US

Alternatively, you can Enable/Disable WiFi by opening:
Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center>Change Adapter Settings

You should see your WiFi connection listed. Right Click to Enable or Disable.

Looked at the specs on your laptop and you have the wireless card included. I assume you have a router set up already or you have access to another wireless network. Follow these steps to access it from your laptop:

1. Go to START
2. select MY COMPUTER
3. Once in the new window, click MY NETWORK PLACES under the "OTHER PLACES" section
4. select the VIEW NETWORK CONNECTIONS link under the NETWORK TASKS section
5. RIGHT CLICK on your wireless network connection and choose PROPERTIES
6. click the WIRELESS NETWORKS tab.
7. make sure the "USER WINDOWS TO CONFIGURE MY WIRELESS NETWORK SETTINGS" box is checked
8. Click OK and close the window
9. RIGHT CLICK on your wireless network connection (the name of it) and choose REPAIR
10. if windows detects the wireless connection, you should see a bubble near the task bar
11. in order to begin using the wireless connection, open your web browser then enter your username and password (if required)

PLease locate the slider switch at the edge of your laptop. there should be a small slider switch for your wireless. Try to look at the sides or at the front of your keyboard.

Restore FN + F8 key to reactivate Wi-Fi on Toshiba Satellite L500

Hi,
My laptop didnt enable the wifi with the fn+f8 key.
I even reset the cmos and nothing.
Then I went to toshiba drivers website and after installing the "thku" "toshiba hotkey utility" the fn+f8 start working and enable/disable the wifi. It now shows a popup windows when I press the fn+f8 key.

Before the wifi led was always off. Windows detected the wifi device but nothing on the wifi available list.
Now the led is always on, starts orange when I turn on the pc and blue when connected.

Turning on the wi-fi, toshiba satellite l505-s5966

Turning on of wifi in laptops are usually done using the keyboard's function key and a Wifi button located from F1 - F11. Also a LED light indicator is placed somewhere in your Notebook, Which will tell you if your wifi is turned On/Off. So here is what you must do.

  • First try to locate your wifi button which is located from F1 - F11, it has a small logo like an Antenna with a signal wave on both sides.
  • Now when you found the botton, for example in "F5" , Hold and press the Function Key which is the "FN" then press the wifi button which is the "F5" in short presentation is this " FN+F5"
  • Remember to press it only once because pressing it twice will result in an off wifi. So be sure to press it only once.
  • After pressing it, a LED light should turn on, it is located somewhere in your notebook. When this light is on this means that your wifi is already turned on.
  • and Thats it.
Hope that my solution will help.Thank you for using Fixya!

How to turn on the wifi on Lenovo R60

1. There is a switch on the front left hand side of the laptop, just shift that to the right and will turn the wireless adapter on.
2. There is also a shortcut you can use, hold FN button and press F5. This will bring up the wireless/bluetooth menu, and you can turn it off/on from here as well.
