I initially turned on ps3 system on tv. image

1 To reset your PS3 back to its original settings go to options. Select system settings and click reset system. WARNINGFollowing these directions will wipe ALL data from your PS3 system. Do NOT do this,
(this will reformat the HDD)

1 - Turn on TV and set input to port being used.
2 - Make sure PS3 is connected via correct cable.
3 - Power on PS3 via power button and HOLD IT for 5 seconds (release after the second beep). It should automatically configure your PS3 to the TV's native resolution for all settings.

3 After you complete the operation and restart the system, the initial setup screen will be displayed. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform initial setup of the system software. Note that performing hard reset on your PS3 will return your password to 0000. However, note that all settings other than the password will also be reset. Once these settings are reset, they cannot be recovered.

All you need to do is turn it off then turn it back on and hold the reset/power button for a few seconds until it beeps then this will automatically setup your PS3 to whatever your TV is setup, I have found this to be an awesome help.

Turn off the PS3. Press the power on button (the system will beep) and hold it down for approximately 5 seconds until you hear a second beep. This will reset the video to the default. You should get a low resolution screen and be able to log on and reset the display to the desired settings.

turn power switch on in the back. red light on in the front, hold the power button until system turns back off. this resets all hardware settings. if this doesn't work and the system is ok (green light) then you have a connection problem to the tv

I had this problem before. I messed with the settings on my PS3 and My TV until the settings matched. My PS3 would show the home until I loaded a game. I turned off then on my PS3 to get to the settings. My TV manual had the types of videos it supported so I went with the second to highest setting it supported and it worked. Hope this helps.

Well you can just use the hdmi cable if you're going both audio and video in to your tv. With your hdmi cable you get the best quality for both.

But in anycase, it seems that your PS3 is set up to output video via HDMI cable. To reset our video output settings, simply power down your PS3 (turned off) and hold down the power button until you hear the second beep. (around 5-10 secs) Power back up and hopefully you'll have video via your av cable. Hope this helps.
