you need to take it in , it stands for Factory Test Mode. software fault. sometimes occurs when accessing bluetooth, telecom will send it to telegistics and get it fixed under warrenty as long as it isnt water or impact damaged,
yes. without SIM car this phone will not connect to any GSM network. Go and purchase a SIM from any GSM provider. Put the SIM, if needed active the SIM. You are ready to call/receive an calls now.
Try your sim with another fone that is on the same network, if same prob. with other fone then contact your network provider. If prob not on other fone try "changing network mode" from "Dual Mode" to "GSM" also try manual network selection. Menu>Tools>Settings>Phone>Network. If still not working take back to place of purchase.
try sim with other fone on same network, if prob cont. with other fone then contact your network. If ok with other fone try selecting Menu>Settings>Press Navigation key right to find Connectivity>Scroll to Mobile networks>Select GSM/3G networks>Turn phone off>On. If this doesn't work you will need to take your fone to a service center.
if the sim is definately ok, Phone is faulty, blacklisted or not designed to be used in your region (eg gsm phone in cdma only area)
ask your service provider if your IMEI (type *#06#) is blacklisted, if so the previous owner has registered it lost or stolen or not paid there bill
