How do I partition my Sony Vaio running on Vista? I bought a Sony Vaio that came with Vista and I also purchased MS Office 2007. But what I didn't do at the beginning is a problem now. When I store my work, it goes into My Document in C drive. I forgot to ask the store man to partition the HD so I could store my work in D drive, separate from the C drive. Now nobody can teach me to do it right. How do I partition it? Do I uninstall everything, format again, partition it, re-install? Someone said partitioning is not supported in Vista. Another said Vista always crashes. What will happen now that all my work is in C drive cos there's no D drive cos I forgot to creat that more storing my work? Is is true that the IT industry never supported Vista? Is it true that Vista does not talk to Open Source software. I have a lot of e-learning development to do in MOODLE which is Open Source. Now I'm in even deeper waters! Please help...

Yes you need to backup and redo it if you want seperate partitions, otherwise you are going to need a partition tool/software to do that.

There is partitioning tool in Vista.
Just check this link How to resize a partition in Windows Vista
Just shrink the C-partition and then make D-partiotion from the free space.

I have bought a new laptop sony vaio VPCEH25EN microsoft office 2010 has been installed but there is no powerpoint program in that.is it not provided in ms office 2010?

most pre-installed microsoft office on a brand new laptop are just a trial, you need to re-install a fresh copy of MS Office, much better to install a Office 2007. In order to install it one option is to purchase a copy of MS office original to a retail store near you, but it's quite expensive. Or you can ask the help of technician of computer to install it to you. Hope it helps thanks.

Recntly i have purchased vaio sony laptop.when ever i want to use ms Office-2007 it asks 25 digit product key which I don't know. Ol send 25 digit product ket for my laptop

The Office you now have was a trial version, you must purchase it if you want to use it again.
If you don't have the money for it then get OpenOffice instead, it's free.

I just bought this brand sony vaio new laptop and it has windows home premium on it... Then the ms Office home/student 2007 and that kept asking me for a Prod Key..

You need to register the Vaio and if you are using the MS office that came on the computer you will need to go through the purchase and registration process. The version they put on computers today is a 90 day temporary trial that requires you to purchase a product key to continue using it. You can go to Walmart, Target, Best Buy and purchase the software there to get your key if you prefer. It will cost the same.

I just bought this brand new laptop and it has Vista on it... then the MS Office Home/Student 2007 and that kept asking me for a Prod Key... I tried the one on the laptop and it doesnt work

the one that you are trying to enter is the product key for your windows operating system. MS Office Home/Student 2007 edition has a separate product key. what was installed in your system is an MS Office Home/Student 2007 trial version. you need to purchase the product key at microsoft website.

When you bought the office you might have also gotten the key on the cd box. use that key . The key ont he computer is the key of the vista and not the microsoft office.

Lack of product key for Microsoft Word

Hi,
All laptops that come preinstalled with MS Office H/S are only trials. Once the trial period has ran out it asks for a product key.
If you want to carry on using MS Office then Microsoft expect you to purchase a product key from them for you to get the full benefits of the office suit.
Alternatively you can use free office software like open office that will open most MS office documents.

Regards.

Micrsoft Vista office

You can install Office 2007 without having any doubt on it because Vista is derivedversion of XP (both are from microsot) so there will be no problems.

Product key for microsoft office 2007

Product codes for all microsoft products are specific for the CD that that were installed from, they are not interchangable. If you can trace the ownership of your computer, a previous owner may still have the correct code. If you are unable to locate the specific code for your software you may have to purchase a new copy of the software and do a fresh installation.
