Will not play Quantum of Solace

I have an HCT blu ray player that plays all my blu rays until I got Quantum of Solace. When I try to access anything from the title page, it will go right back to the title page after trying to load. I have exchanged this blu ray and the new copy does the same thing.

Go to your player manufactures website and download and install the lastest firmware for your player.
New BD movies have more functions and features which require you to update your players software to play them.

Is the philips dvd player dvp3982 ale to play blu=ray disks?

DVD players cannot play Blu-Ray discs. Most Blu-Ray players have DVD support, which means they can play DVDs as well as Blu-Ray. Unfortunately, the DVP3982 is not a DVD player, not a Blu-ray player, therefore it cannot support this format.

Samsung BDC6500 cannot play AVATAR and Quantum of Solace, firmware BSP-C6500wwbb-1010.4. No newer firmware from internet

I have purchased 3 BD-C6500 so far... all of them updated the firmware to the latest 1013.x.
Check that the player 'says' your Internet connection is ok. I've used the wired connection.

I have a Bush Blue Ray Player DS-BD01 which until recently worked fine. It won't play the new Quantum of Solace movie. Keeps going back to menu. Everything I read in the web suggests I need update in...

from what I have managed to find out it seems argos has taken over bush and just badged the blu ray player as a bush player so I would contact argos and get advice on what website to go to so as to udpate the firmware on the bluray player or check the manuals.

Seems a lot of people are having these issues and have also mentioned you would be better off saving up the extra money to get a branded player ie sony

Samsung bd-p1200 won't play new "quantum of solace"

I too had this problem with Qauntum of Solace, I could get past the teasers and the warnings but when it gets to the main menu I select PLAY and it just stops at 00:00. The firmware upgrade fixed it! However I had to make a CD because the LAN method said I already had the latest version. I downloaded Ver 2.5 from Samsung support site - ( http://pages.samsung.com/us/bluraysupport/support.html)
Then I needed to get Nero Burning ROM software (windows version) to burn an IMAGE of the .ISO file (I use a Mac and just burning the file onto a CD didn't work) You have to follow these instructions to the letter - ( http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?CDSite=us&CttFileID=1488556&CDCttType=FM&ModelType=C&ModelName=BD-P1200&VPath=FM/200710/20071012103832890_BD-P1200_CD_Update_Process.pdf )
Finally the player recognized the firmware and did the upgrade to 081119_T22F_0924.07_XAA
Voila, QoS now plays without a hitch.

Quantum of solace, on blu ray, previews play fine, film wont

Do need the internet, just go into your settings tab on the intro menu for the PS3 and hit system update. Use the via internet option and it finds the newest version...2.70. Takes a bit to download but, when it's done you get to enjoy watching the otherwise $30 drink coaster.

Problem with playing

Occasionally the software on most blu-ray players needs to be updated to the newest technology. The reason some discs play and some don't is because the discs that play are most-likely older movies or from a company that still used the "outdated" software. So the discs that don't play (most likely discs made with the updated software) won't play on your player until you've update the player's software. To do this visit, in your case, Sony's website for update info. There are a few ways you can get the info. You can download it directly to your player (if it has online accessibility) or you can request that they send you an update disc. Either way, most companies provide the update for free. Hope this helps, good luck!
