Where can I get a new start cap for a 1 hp Hayward super pump

SOURCE: Hayward 1 hp super Pump just hums then shuts off.

turn shaft manually wiyh pliers if somthing is stuck in propeller this should clear it

Recheck your wire connection on the motor. You likely put both your line wires on the same terminal. If not, try finding a local warranty center for a repair or replacement... http://www.haywardnet.com/locator/

You need 4 wires to wire the 2 speed pump. You will also need a 2 speed time clock.. Tightwatt or intermatic. The wiring diagram is on the motor.

What is broken in your motor? Don't count it out until you have your pool place give it a check. If it is dead, get a 1 1/2 Hayward Super Pump just like the one you have.

If you've never done it before, it can be a bid deal. You will need to get the exact replacement motor (1hp square flange), a shaft seal, impeller wrench, and be prepared to replace o-rings and rewire the new motor. If you're not comfortable dealing with electrical/mechanical, you're better off getting a service tech to help you out.
