• Stick the HDD into an available slot in the chasis
• Connect an available sata power cable from your PSU to the HDD
• Connect a sata data cable from the drive to an available sata port on the motherboard
• Close the case and power on the computer
• Right click My Computer/Computer and select "Manage"
• Go to Disk Management and locate the drive (Disk 1) most likely
• Right Click it and select "Format" choose your partition type and format.
• Create one or more partitions.

No you have to remove the media drive cage from the front the panel comes off. then pull on green tab to remove it completely then you'll be able to reach the harddrive
