When this happens, it indicates that the condenser fan has failed. (The condenser fan is the one behind the fridge near the compressor.) If you could provide the exact model number, I'll look up the parts and provide you with detailed replacement instructions, OK?

No clarification necessary. The problem is most definitely the condenser motor. Here is a full diagram of the "unit compartment"... the part you're looking at is number 24. Maybe you have a local part house, if you do just call them and ask for a part number W10124096. Or you can plug that number into a search engine and go price shopping (there's a $10.50 price difference between Sears and RepairClinic, for instance)
Anyway, the repair is straight forward. Roll the fridge out and UNPLUG IT. Remove the lower rear panel to expose the unit compartment. Now all you have to do is use a 1/4" socket and remove the motor from its' bracket (just slip the fan blade off the end of the shaft). Your new motor comes with instructions... just follow them and button everything back up! It's a breeze. Total job time = ~ 30 minutes.

You either have obstructed coils (lots o dust) under the fridge or the fan that is supposed to draw air across them has ceased to work. Check the coils and clean as necessary, and check the fan. Maybe you will get lucky and find something caught in it. If the fan is not working, leave the back cover off the fridge and put a small window or box fan back there until you can get the fan replaced. The fan will keep the fridge running for you in the meantime.
This is usually normal for these units it can depen on how long the unit is running in a cooling mode.
the other thing to check is the condensor fan in the bottom back side of the fridge and make sure it is running if it is not the it needs to be replaced this will also cause alot of heat on the fromt of the unit
The divider between the side by side frigerator/freezer where the door closes and seals is extremely hot- too hot to touch. Is something wrong with my refrigerator, should i unplug it?
Sir,
Sounds like there is a problem in the sealed system. Remove the rear lower cover and tell me if the condenser fan is turning. While there, is the Compressor hot to the touch?
Pull the unit away from the wall and then remove the rear bottom cover. Is the condenser fan running? If it's real dirty there, unplug the unit and clean real well. In the freezer section...look on the rear wall and tell me if you see any frost building up.
Thanks
Good Luck
That is a heat strip to prevent condensate near the door seals and yours is possibly shorting out because the control fo it is defective. Send me the model number for your Roper and I will look at the diaqrams to confirm my theroy. Thanks, Sea BreezeEnter your model number at the link below and it will take you to the parts and photos.http://servicepartstec.blogspot.com
That is not a problem, it is designed to use "waste heat" from the cooling system to warm this area to prevent condensation from forming there without having to use the extra energy required if an electric heater were used. It will be noticeably warmer while the compressor is running and has been running for a time than if the compressor has been off for a period of time.
HI thanks for your question. the heat between the two doors is normal. its heated there to stop moisture, from hitting a cold surface , and turning to water, so its normal. but pull fridge away from the wall. remove the back panel by the compressor. clean all coils. thanks the appliance doc. please rate my answer. thanks
I'm not familiar with the Samsung refrigerators, but on most side-by-sides the evaporator (cooling) coils are located within the divider partition between the two sides.... along with the defroster 'heater' coils. During the defrost cycle, this panel may feel warm/hot to the touch. Are the freezer/refrigerator sections staying as cold as they should be otherwise? If they are also TOO WARM, then you may have a 'defrost cycle' relay or timer motor malfunctioning.
