I accidently put the lock on my oven.Now the lock will not come off. Please help

Based on the symptoms you are describing, it appears that your Frigidaire range is possibly locked. Typically, the "Door Locked" light will glow until the Self-Clean cycle has completed or the oven temperature has cooled. However, if the issue continues, please confirm that the Oven Control Lockout feature was not accidently selected (on some models). If so, you can cancel this feature by pressing CLEAR/OFF and hold for approximately 10 seconds. The control will unlock the oven door and resume normal operations.

If the instructions above do not solve the problem, may I please have your model number? The serial tag, which lists your model number, is typically located in the storage drawer, on the right side. Thanks for posting to Fixya I will be helping you today. You have posted that you have a Kenmore Elite 44173 electric cooktop with a problem. However, you also mention your are having trouble with the oven not working. This post maybe categorized wrong but I will try to answer you question for both a range and oven control.

Sometimes on a cooktop customers will lockout the controls on accident while cleaning. Usually there is a button on the control that you hold for 4 seconds +/- and there is a little simbol of a padlock next to it or you might have to check the owners manual.

Lastly, Ranges may also have a lock out feature that the customer must press 4 seconds too unlock. On select models controls may also be locked out by putting their oven into sabbath mode. Usually the display will indicate a "SAB" to alert that this feature has been set.

*In general the above instructions should help if your unit is locked out.

i would unplug it or turn the breaker off to the unit for at least 5 minutes see if this resets it or the code goes away, if not then usuallly the lock flashing relates to a bad lock assembly,, also if there is any control locks make sure those havent been accidently puches hope this helps

First thing to make sure of is that your oven cleaner is not on delay start.Clear it if it is. You also might have a child safety lock that was put on by accident (with not model I can't verify that, but look for a lock symbol). If you can not find a clear button, try to reset the oven cleaner- set it to go off in five minutes and the lock should release. If none of the above works, go to your breaker box (or unplug it) and shut the power off. It should reset the electronics. If this does not work, please leave a comment telling me what kind of over it is, how it is powered, etc. thank you for your question.

push in on the oven light switch and hit clean then cancel you have to hold the oven light switch thats what tells the eoc the door is closed if this dont work reply to me

what do you mean locked accidently if if the door is locked and 3hrs is on the display hit start then cancel if the door showes locked and is not (you can still open the door)push in on the door switch by hand and push cancel let me know
