Invalid dim it wont graph equations

Here is what the manual says
INVALID DIM : The dimension of the argument is incompatible with th current operation. (As dimension of a matrix, a list).

You can tell us more about what your were trying to do, we may able to help. Reset memory to default, the error may disappear.
[2nd][MEM][7][2][2] Defaults set.

Hello,
The easiest and quickest way to start graphing is to reset the RAM. Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset], then [CLEAR] to clear the RAM Cleared Message and go to the main screen.

So on my graphing calculator i put my equation x^3-x^2-10x-8. then i hit graph and it says err:invalid DIM.

INVALID DIM error message may occur if you are trying to graph a function that does not involve the stat plot features. The error can be corrected by turning off the stat plots. To turn the stat plots off, press 2nd then stat plot, and then select 4:PlotsOff. By the way it is easy to graphing function y=x^3-x^2-10x-8.

As you can see this function have zero values in the points -2, -1 and 4

We are trying to enter in some equations to the y= button and then we are trying to graph the equation and we are getting an error window that says invalid dim

You must disable the Statistical plots.
  1. Press STAT button
  2. In the menu list that displays, select the Option PlotsOff and press ENTER.
  3. When the calculator answers Done, you can go to Y= editor to enter your functions or
  4. press GRAPH, if functions are already defined.

Press the 2nd key, then the plus key, then 7, then 1, then 2. This will reset your calclulator and you should be able to graph,

Graph and trace buttons don't work

This is probably because you have the stat plot on. You would need to go to y= and then go to the top where it says stat plot 1 and un highlight it if it is highligted. That should fix your problem.
