Bosh wishwasherhow do you unlock the child safety lock?

Hello there and welcome to fixya The child lock function of your Bosch dishwasher prevents accidental program changes and stops children playing with the controls while the appliance is running. You might want to turn the lock off if it has been accidentally turned on. The controls of the dishwasher are disabled, preventing you from starting a new wash, while the child lock is running. The lock is simple to turn on and off, as necessary, in just a few seconds

Hi, my front loader washing machine (Bosch Logixx 8 sensitive) has child lock written on the screen and will not start the load. ive tried switching it on and off again but it does nothing. the door is...

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

The Key symbol means the lock has been activated some how.

On most bosch of your class this is how you work it on & off.

Here`s how to deactivate it...

1) Press the "menu" button until you see "CHILD LOCK :ON" appear in the display. ( if nothing is pressed within 10 sec.following this the menu will close and it will default to program in the display )

2) Once you see what I just mentioned in the display press the "select" button until "CHILD LOCK :OFF" appears in the display.

3) Finally by pressing the "start/pause" button the key symbol should disappear confirming you have successfully exited the child lock program.

Let me know if this was helpful to you or not, if so please take a second and rate it accordingly.

Thank you for visiting "fixya" for your washer solution inquiry.

good luck going forward.

How do i get the child lock off to operate the machine please

You have probably inadvertently activated the child lock. You can start a cycle still, but you will need to hold the start button for approx 5 secs. Check you user guide for deactivation instruction.

Child lock flashing

Hello Lynn, Welcome to fixya. The key symbol indicates the washer has somehow been placed in the "child lock" mode, hence it won't allow any program to over-ride it. Here's what to do to deactivate it... 1) Press the "menu" button until you see "CHILD LOCK :ON" appear in the display. ( if nothing is pressed within 10 sec.following this the menu will close and it will default to program in the display ) 2) Once you see what I just mentioned in the display press the "select" button until "CHILD LOCK :OFF" appears in the display. 3) Finally by pressing the start/pause button the key symbol should disappear confirming you have successfully exited the child lock program. That is the procedure for the child lock function on your Bosch washer and should solve your problem. Let me know if this was helpful to you or not, if so please take a second and rate it accordingly. Thank you for visiting "fixya" for your washer solution inquiry. good luck going forward. macmarkus :)
