I think you WiFi card may have turned it's toes up. You need to try a replacement. OR try your Wifi card in a friends unit to test.

not all computers are the same even different models of the same brand but try this push the FN key and F2 at the same time this is the most comon way to turn on if no switch

I fear that I have the wrong driver to the Atheros AR5BXB63, I'm using a laptop Acer Aspire 4520.

what do you mean wireless key ? is it wireless usb ? or wireless card ?
did you buy it from acer ?
if it is wireless usb adapter, just plug it in the usb port and install the driver for that usb.

if it is wireless card (acer). Open the back of your laptop, you can see the slot. just insert your wireless card in to the wireless slot and attached the both wireless antena (is should be black and white)
