Bluetooth is a wireless form of communication. A bit like wifi but only with About 10m radius. You usually "initially" have to put a device in "discovery mode" where it sends out a signal to allow it to be identified by other receivers close by. Like an iPad
The two devices (when discovered) have to be paired by you to allow communication to occur. You give it "Permission"
Sometimes this involves using an ID number supplied in the manual that came with the device. The # (e.g. 0000) would be entered into the iPad to give it permission to "Pair" with the device.
Once paired, the devices will connect automatically from then on.
Music is heard wirelessly....
Good luck
Bluetooth is the technology to connect two devices, wireless, no irritation of chords and one can move anywhere with the device connected. The Bluetooth speaker is the newest technology to enjoy music and receive calls, with walking, driving and jogging etc. First turn on Bluetooth of your speaker and mobile then search Bluetooth Speakers device in your mobile and connect. The features of Supertooth speakers are amazing, very compact, latest technology and stylish. Check here http://supertooth.net/en/.
Once you put the JBL speaker on, turn on bluetooth on your ipad, search for bluetooth device, it takes a few minutes sometime to locate your speaker, once you see your speaker listed in the bluetooth device, click on the device. IT will connect but at times it might ask for a PIN.

SOURCE: HOW DO I MAKE A CALL USING THE VOICE COMMAND ON MY PHONE USING MY BLUE TOOTH
When the earpiece is in your ear the outside (blue part) is actually the multifuction key. Just press the button and say the command to make a call, and push the button again to hang up a call, it took me a day or two to figure that out too.
Hope this helps

Try to put your headset in pairing mode first. Press and hold the K1 button for some 8 seconds, until the indicator led is rapidly flashing alternately in red and blue. Then, make your PC's bluetooth application search for new devices. Your headset should appear. Select it make it connect. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). The pairing process should be done just once. After any 2 devices are paired, they should connect to each other just by being next to each other (provided their bluetooth radios are turned on, of course). Othewise, a simple press on the button should do.
By the way, if your headset's user guide happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Regards,
Carlos
