How do you check refrigerant in model ad50uss?. The fan is working and I think the compressor is coming on, but after a little while of running the coils do not get cold. Thanks

Turn the unit on and put you hand on the copressor to see
if it's vibrating. If so then it could be low refrigerant or a worn
compressor.
If it's not vibrating then I would check the thermostat,
compressor relay, and compressor for continuity.

How do you check compressor on LG LHD45EL

If you just want to make sure the compressor is running, turn it to the lowest humidity extraction level setting, which is 35%. If the air intake filter is clean, and the water bucket is empty, the compressor should turn ON, in less than a minute.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

My Santa Fe compact dehumidifier in my crawlspace makes a noise (not a smooth humming sound but more of a harsh vibrating sound) when it is not dehumidifying. I can turn the knob to the dryest setting and...

The black cylinder is the compressor. It sounds like your unit is cycling the compressor for some reason. If the compressor starts, runs fine, and removes water when you set the humidity control to the driest setting the compressor is probably OK and the problem may be with the humidity control causing the dehumidifier to "short cycle" for some reason. You may need to change the humidity control or relocate the dehumidifier in your crawl space.
If the compressor attempts to start, and then sits quiet for 10 minutes, and then attempts to start again, you have a problem with the dehumidifier. There are a few things that can cause this problem:
Low refrigerant charge
Bad compressor capacitor
Bad compressor overload
Plugged capillary tube or broken expansion valve
are the common causes of this behavior. If you suspect one of these problems, call the factory service department at 1-800-533-7533 for help.

Good luck with your dehumidiifer.

Seem like the compressor is not working very hot

Assuming this is the A/C compressor, right? The compressor will be hot to the touch, the question is whether or not it is engagining when turned on, Check to see if the compressor clutch iis working by having someone turn it on and off while listebibg an observing the compressor clutch. Low refrigerant would or should orevent compressor operation to protect the compressorthrough a safety switch. Good luck

Humidifier compressor does not stay on more than 1-2 minutes

Sounds like bad relay on compressor or bad compressor. There is only so far you can go yourself without knowledge in electrical and AC units. Suggest you call a service tech or if you can take it to service cemter near you. Russ

Kenmore 54701 (70 pt) dehumidifier is not prerforming properly

could be a bad humidistat or a bad PTC relay on the compressor, check for voltage going to compressor, and check neutral continuity, if there is both then you have a bad compressor, check warranty on comp replacement, if no voltage then the humidistat is probably bad

The compressor only turn on once (GE AHH40LHG1)

before you go to fix it, what is the setting it is at? What is the tempurature of the room it is in? If the setting has been satified the unit has done it job and if it is too cold in the room it will not operate properly either.
