Changing time on RCA CD clock radio

I lost the user manuel on my RCA CD Clock Radio Model# RP4801C. It is weird, I can change the minutes but not the hour. I tried hitting the set button but this only changes the time for the alarm to go off.

    need to change the time

  • marnyr Aug 01, 2008

I have the model RP4801A which appears exactly the same as wwanda3's. I cannot set the time, and after several attempts, I have an addtional problem in that the alarm comes on anywhere from 5.15 a.m. to 5.45 a.m. This is happening after an unplanned power outage here in the Yukon. Before I throw the radio out, can you offer some help?

    Thank you.

Why does RCA make it so difficult? Why isn't there a CLOCK button...to change the time for CLOCKS should not be a treasure hunt!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!

  • Anonymous Mar 10, 2009

I can't stand this clock radio. It is not easy to operate at all. Setting the time sucks, and that NAP option always pops up and stays on and it is a ***** to get ride of! ugh!

UNPLUG!!! Wait 15 seconds. Plug in again, CLOCK will flash 12am.
Press "set" button ONCE.
Press Double Back Arrows |<< to go backward from Midnight
or
Press Double Forward Arrows |>> to go forward from Midnight

(Either press-hold the Double Arrows for quick minute-scroll or repeat-press Double Arrow for a slower minute-by-minute change.)

Unplugging is key to this operation, but DO NOT press the SET key at all. This will put you in Alarm Set mode. Just kill power, the numbers will flash, then set the time, then reset the color numbers you want and you're done.

Sony radio/cd/clock under the cabinet. Lost

On the right side there is a push button switch labeled "Clock". It is springloaded so you have to push it in and hold it for a couple of seconds until the unit beeps and the hour position starts to blink. The volumn up and down buttons will control the changing of the numbers up and down and PM/AM. Pushing the clock button again will change the clock to the minutes position and you cann adjust the numbers up or down just like the hours. Push it one more time will lock-in the new time. Your done.

How to change the time on clock radio

I'm not 100% sure if this is right or not, but i used to have one similar and the way to reset it was:
  1. Press the SET button.
  2. After the time blinks, press the REV or FWD button to adjust the time. (Press and hold the REV or FWD button to fast reverse or fast forward time.)
  3. To save settings press the SET button.
  4. Once you have the clock set and have press the SET button, the time should be done blinking.
Give this a try and hopefully it works, good luck
