Yes, and coolant was disappearing after rebuild then I'm guessing the 3rd cylinder hydro locked at start and bent the rod.

Head is removed so the crank should manually bar over with little effort and rotate smoothly and not bind at any point. If a rod is bent it will likely bind up at the same crank position(s) for every rotation.

Hello. It seems your vehicle's transmission has to be rebuilt/replaced. Any automatic transmission that won't 'shift' from 1st gear into 2nd or 3rd gear has a 'worn' slave cylinder that 'slides' gears one way or another. 1st gear works yet 2nd and 3rd don't. There is often a switch on the brake pedal lever which lights the Brakes up. On some cars it is a electric fitting off the Master cylinder under the hood.

Sometimes the wiring disconnects in the trunk, and power is interrupted. It is not impossible for both Brake light bulbs to burn out at once, but the 3rd safety brake light would suggest that if it works the problem is rearward and if the 3rd light does not, the problem is forward.

Use a voltmeter to test for power.

Any good fuel system cleaner used every 3rd or 4th tankful will help minimize. Another helpful tip, when "putzing" around town keep it in 3rd gear, that'll keep RPMs up to keep cylinders clean.

Hello, Well there is not much more it could be unless you have a shorted wire or a burned fuse. I would normally think that the turn signal canceler was bad but the 3rd brake light will still work if that is bad so I would check all fuses and for bare or shorted wires.

Hi, if you had a mouse in there, he could have eaten a wire. Did you check to see if the injector is firing? You can do that by holding a long screwdriver to the injector and hold the other end to your ear. You should be able to hear the solenoid clicking. If it is a code P0303 and it isn't the plug, wire, or injector, suspect a burned valve. Please let me know if you have questions.

could just be a bad spark plug wire or spark plug remove for that cylinder see if you find any thing in that area.....irongod ps; somtimes the plug wire will get burned or just a bad spot on them look real careful at it

Ive found it locks up on certain video clips. Removing the clips solves the problem - not ideal!
