Technics ho2 no play error

technics sl-dv290 dvd player... the problem is- after inserting my dvd, the player attempts to read it, then flags HO2 no play error. after reading similar posted questions, i have 2 additional ones

where can i get the motor and is there a particular part number i need?


after almost being charged the price of the whole system, to rectify the problem, can the motor be replaced by an average electronics repairer, such as myself?
