Viking oven won't turn on

We have a viking electric oven, in replacing the panel the oven light switch sparked and now nothing works except for the clock. It didn't trip the breaker, is there anything I can check or know before I call for service?

Same exact problem.  It was working fine, then suddenly stopped, except for the clock.  I tried everything with no luck.  This followed one day to the week after my Viking microwave went and one month after my Viking refrigerator inverter board went (for the second time).

I have a double oven and the self cleaning will not work on the top oven and
the botton oven will not work. Check to see if the breaker is on and all so
check the power to the oven is on.

I had same problem (twice) with my Viking dual fuel range. In my case a relay that supplies power to the oven heating elements failed. The convection fan would run. The elements were warm to the touch. If you have a free standing range, it may be that relay (part number PM010026) which is located in the front of the stove. Remove a long narrow stainless steel panel (1 screw each side) located under where the door hinges. You can hear the relay click when you turn up the oven thermostat. That will help you locate the relay.

Note: Viking does not sell parts. You have to find their parts distributor for your part of the country.

I had a similar problem. The oven light worked and sparks still lit the gas stop top, but both the heating element and broil element did not head up. I removed the door and the chrome panel at the base to reveal the relay.

One of the wires had burned out right where it plugged in to the relay using a quick disconnect plug. There was enough slack in the wire that I pulled it out, stripped to expose fresh wire, attached a new quick disconnect plug, and plugged it back in to the relay. It worked perfectly!

Diagnosing the problem took an hour or two. Fixing it took 10 minutes.

Hey! My oven works except for the clock! Want to sell your clock? =) If not, did you try calling Viking? When I called about my dead clock, they were very helpful (up to the point of sending a replacement clock assembly, then the friendliness faltered a bit). There might be an inline fuse or something that you can replace. Good luck!

How do I get the ovens working if the clock works, but they do not?

You'll have to make sure that the clock has been set for Manual cooking and not inadvertently set it on Auto. However if your breaker tripped because of a fault on your oven the internal switching of the timer may have been damaged as a result of the fault.

Have a viking professional oven and it takes too

A weak oven ignitor will cause this problem. even though it eventually lights the temp has dropped considerably so you don't get consistent temp. turn the oven on and listen for the burner to light. should light within about 2 minutes. if not replace oven ignitor(s)

Hi, I replaced the right side ignitor module and now the ignitors spark vigorously and the burners light but the ignitors won't spot sparking and sometimes keep sparking several seconds after I turn off...

There are a few things to check for. Make sure the electrode ( the small metal piece that the spark comes off from ) is clean and the holes in the burner are clean, use a pin or paper clip to clean out the burner holes and NOT a tooth pick as these can break off and make things worse. The next thing to check for are theignition switches under the surface control knobs, the switches can twist and break and keep the spark module on and the spark keeps "clicking" even when the burner is light. If every thing looks good, you may have a bad spark module, replace it. Sometimes cleaning can get moisture into the surface switches, try drying them with an hair dryer to see of this will help.

thanks.keep updated and please do accept the solution.
