Check that the Developing Coupling of the Developing Assembly is not damaged. 2. Check that the Developing Coupling of the Main Drive Assembly is not damaged. 3. Check/replace the related harness/cable, connector and parts.

E240 is a communication fault between the DCC and main controller.
Several cases were reported where the HDD was causing this. Symptoms included: Control panel locking up, machine suddenly powering off, and E240.
One case reported was resolved by replacing the main controller.
Perform HD-CHECK in service mode. If this doesn't resolve the problem replace the HDD.
Pull it from the printer itself. If you know it's IP address type //and the IP address in the address bar of your web browser and you should be able to download the driver from the printer.
