You can format your Nokia N73 device by typing: * + 3 + call + Power on. Before the device is reset, you need to provide the lock code. The default lock code is 12345.

If it is not working try this code:
You can format your device by typing *#7370# in standby mode. Before the device is reset, you need to provide the lock code. The default lock code is 12345.

Some Nokia phone can be reset via this menu option
Press menu button or enter Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone management > Factory settings > Delete data and restore > YES
NOTE:
Formatting the device will permanently erase all user data and settings as well as add-on applications and operator specific settings.

To format N 73 Cellular Phone Steps are shown below

  1. You can remove the mmc but keep the sim card and restart your phone.
  2. Then press the keys *#7370#.
  3. The phone would ask a confirmation.
  4. Select yes.
  5. Then it will ask for a code.
  6. Type the phone lock code (the default code is 12345).
  7. There you are! your phone will restart with all the phone memory formatted.
Tips
  • Also remember that you can reset your phone but not loose any of your personal files (I.E restore the settings that came when you bought the phone while keeping contacts etc) by following the above procedure but using the code *#7780#
Warnings
  • Don't apply these steps if you are not sure what you are doing.
  • Make sure you have enough battery power before beginning this procedure.
  • Formatting will erase all your contacts/messages, so make a backup of your phone before formatting.
  • If have MMC-card make a backup on mmcstore file !

I WANT FORMAT MY PHONE nokia n73
There are many ways, but in my opinion the simplest one is this one. Note: All your date will be lost, and the phone will be as "Out of the Box" condition, so backup whatever you want.
  • Make sure your phone is fully charged.
  • Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card (if possible).
  • Switch off your N73 phone.
  • Press and hold these three keys together:
  • The green dial key,
    • The star key (*)
    • The three key (3)
  • Press the power on/off for 1 minute to switch on the N73 phone. Do not let go of the three keys until you see the “formatting” screen displayed
  • Wait a few minutes until the format is complete. Your N73 will now be formatted and restored to its original factory settings.

    You want to reset or format the entire n73?

    Format the entire phone. This will delete everything on the phone, but so back up pics, videos, etc on the memory card.

    To format:

    1. Turn off phone
    2. Hold the following keys down WHILE it's turning back on:
    3. (3 + * + green call key)
    4. Do not let go till it asks about your location
    5. Let johnny_20 know how it goes :)
