It sounds to me that something is getting very hot and causing the system to shut itself down. Then when it cools off, it returns to normal. Investigation inside straight after it has shut down might reveal what is getting hot, by simply feeling for a very hot part. But be careful don't burn yourself!

I would check that there is not a problem with the power supply to the set. If it gets hot and shuts of the power may be faulty and could be causing component failure.

your ignition coil are going bad, they need to be replaced. once the car gets hot the circuit shut down the car when hot. once they cool your riding again until they get hot. thats your problem. Good Luck

The amount that it gets hot is a clue but theres no shut off switch. It's possible that the car is over heating and the temp gauge does'nt have enought water over it to report the problem. once the cooling system is cleared as it's full circulating and the fan will come on when it's hot ( disconnect the temp. switch on the therostate cover on the top of the transmission, ( the stat is in the lower hose ) with it disconnected and the key on the fan should be on and connected f till it's real hot. The crank senser or distrubutor module can can too hot and shut down too

the valve where they mix is blocked on the hot side, or the shut off is almost shut off. check the shut off first.

if it only shut's down when it gets hot and won't start until it cools down it sounds like the ignition module is getting hot and breaking down

i am not a expert just trying to help,it sounds like it is vapor locking,, check your gas lines to see if they are getting hot,,and check to see if carb. is getting hot maybe be a exhaust leak causing gas to bubble hope this help
