Polygonal Mirror Motor Cooling Fan Motor Lock
The polygonal mirror motor cooling fan motor lock signal remains HIGH for 5s while the polygonal mirror motor cooling fan motor is on.

Scanner feed trouble.

The scanner does not complete feeding in the specified time.

Mirror unit abnormality.
The scanner wire is disconnected.
The origin detection sensor abnormality.
Mirror motor harness abnormality.

Use SIM 1-1 to check the mirror reciprocatingoperations.
When the mirror does not feed.
Check for disconnection of the scanner wire.
Check the harness and the connector between the mirror motor and the MCU PWB.
Replace the mirror unit.Replace the MCU PWB.
When the mirror does feed.
Use SIM 1-2 to check the mirror home positionsensor.

sounds like a switch as common error oboth sides unlikely

L1 = Mirror feed trouble,check the mirror motor.
L2 = Mirror motor lock
L3 = Mirror returntrouble
L5 = Lens trouble,check the lens motor,sensor and driver board.
L6 = Rotary casette trouble
L8 = Full wave signal error
L9 = Sorter trouble.

Sounds like the scanning mirror might be locked - during shipping, the mirror is locked to prevent damage. Look around the back or the underside of the unit and look for a slider with a lock/unlock picture on it. Slide it to unlock and the mirror should be free to move.

Other than sending the camera to the shop to get replacement, you can do this method to temporarily solve the problem. Set the camera to P mode, go for Sensor Cleaning Mode, Manual Cleaning, and clean now... You will then hear the mirror lock and followed by ERR99! All you have to do now is to shut off the camera, take off the battery and waith few seconds. Reinstal the battery and immediately you'll hear the mirror resetting itself. The camera should be working just fine for now until you shut it off next. I suspect, this error are linked to the mirror or sensor lock up thingy....

SC-320 Polygon mirror motor error:
Symptom: Did not detect lock signal from
polygon mirror motor within 10
seconds after motor ON signal;
or, lost lock signal for
continuous 1.5 seconds after
signal was detected.
Cause:
1.Polygon mirror motor (or harness)
defective
2.FCU defective

P.S. Remove LSU. Turn out poligon mirror.
Clean & lubricate.

The E7 code is related to the laser and or the distinction between black and white being read/interpreted by the system. There should be a sub code which will point more directly to the problem. The laser could be bad or the glass and mirrors need cleaning. Remove the glass (with the copier unplugged) and clean including the white strip underneath, clean mirrors too.

I guess you're getting an error message which is normally one of the below (causes underneath)

These errors usually indicate a
failure in the HYSNC signal to the
printhead. Check the continuity of
the cables connected to J3 and J8
on the engine board. If incorrect,
replace the defective cable. The
voltage at J8-4 measures
approximately +5 V dc. If incorrect,
replace the engine board. The
voltage at J3-7 measures
approximately +24 V dc. If incorrect,
replace the engine board. If correct,
replace the printhead assembly.

Mirror Motor Lost Lock
Error Code 935
Mirror Motor unable to
reach operating speed =

These error codes indicate a
problem with the mirror motor circuit
in the printhead assembly or the
mirror motor cable to the engine
board cable or engine board
assembly. Check the continuity of
the mirror motor cable connected to
J3 on the engine board. If incorrect,
replace the cable. The voltage at
J3-7 measures approximately
+24 V dc. If incorrect, replace the
engine board. If correct, replace the
FRUs in the following order:
engine board
printhead assembly

L1-00 is a mirror base feed trouble. Make sure the scanner mirrors move freely. Check for a scanner lock usually underneath the scanner frame to make sure the mirrors aren't "locked". otherwise check the cables and belts in the optics section but do NOT didassemble them without experience doing so. Lubricate scanner rails. Usually caused by accidental scanner lock engagement.
