A line is through the print because a needle within the dot-matrix printer is broken or stuck within the printer. This will eventually get stuck on the ribbon and tear a hole in the ribbon...and eventually led to complete printer failure. This can be caused by the running a staple or paper clip through the printer, yanking the card out of the clock while it is still printing or after years of lint build up (they are suppose to be maintained at least once a year). Epson workforce 610 printing improperly

have the printer being discussed in this thread.... the Epson WorkForce 610. I just encountered the same issue, many lines were missing from the page that I wanted to print. Ink levels were fine, but every time I try to print the same thing, the same lines were missing. I read through the solutions mentioned above and I decided to see what the printer had in its maintenance toolbox on the printer itself.

Here's a solution that worked for me!

1. Go to "Setup"
2. Under Setup, select "Maintenance"
3. Select "Head Cleaning"

The printer does the head cleaning automatically. Print another page, all of the lines should show up!

Simple, no need to buy another printer or clean the ribbon...

Epson Aculaser C1100 Just replaced Black Cartridge still printing with wide black line on right hand side of page

This issues looking printer head problem. check the following Steps for cleaning printer head :

Click on the Start button if you have Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, click the Windows icon that resides in the lower left corner of your computer screen.

Click on "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware." Finally click on "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers."

Right-click on the name of your printer and choose "Printing Preferences." This should open a new window; next look for a tab or button marked Maintenance, or something similar.

Find the button that says "Print heads" or "Clean the Print heads" and click on it. You may be asked to choose which print heads; choose them all if you are. Make sure there is paper and ink in your printer, and that it is turned on ahead of time.

Take out the page your printer has printed and see if there are any grids or boxes missing. If there aren't, then you can just exit the program--your print heads are not clogged. If there are grids missing, then click on the "Cleaning" or similarly worded button.

Once the cleaning process has completed, print another page to be sure that your print heads are no longer clogged. If they are still clogged, repeat Steps 1-5 until your printer is printing clearly.

Missing first letter of each line printing to xerox dc440st

If it is only from one PC, then there must be a setting in your printer properties (right click on the printer, left click "Properties"), probably under 'printing preferences', then maybe "paper/quality" and or "finishing" (every printer is slighlty different). check theat the Zoom is set at 100% , and anything else that refers to size is correct....that's my best guess.

Card printing

It sounds like a printhead pixel has burned out. The only fix for it is to replace the printhead.

Zebra 105Se missing line

Try cleaning the thermal printhead. Zebra makes thermal printhead cleaners or you can use a qtip and some isopropyl alcohol.

Make sure the printer is turned off before doing this.

Missing lines 105SE

If you print too close to the top or bottom of the label, the printer might remove the whole line reather than print part of each character.

If the missing line is somewhere else, the printer might be using a "cached" image. If your software has a feature like "Clear Cache" or "Reimage Label", you could give that a try.

If this doesn't work, let me know the type of software you're using and I'll try again. :-)
