Not producing any image

I have VPL-HS51A, when I turn on the projector it comes up normal, but when I connect to any of my video inputs, it does not show any pictures. I can't seem to tell if the its bulb problem or something else. HDMI use to work fine but now not picture at all, If I disconnect the signal I can see the projecor menu fine.

I have the second problem, tried all the video inputs and same results, signal seem to be detected but the screen goes dark. I can put my hand in front of the projecter and see a light coming out but its not bright enough, Could it be that bulb need to go into a brighter mode when video singal is added? Before I spend $300 on a bulb I really want to make sure its the bulb and not the projector problem.

Hi,
There are 2 problems in this post, let me know what problem is yours?

In case of first problem, please check fans are running?
and for second problem, as you said you see Menu of projector then its not bulb (lamp) problem and no picture reason could be bad HDMI cable or HDMI port of projector. Please provide analog video signal either DVD player or computer to make sure that projector has picture from other inputs.

Hit "add a comment" button for further query / info.
Thanks.

    Hello,
    Thanks for update,
Lamp in projector has only one mode to provide back light and there is no option of less bright or more bright lamp drive.

If you see Menu options without any signal input as normal as it was before then it is not lamp issue. It can be problem of video input circuit defect and qualified Sony tech is required as it can not be solved at user level.
Please contact nearest Sony Service Center for fix.
    Thanks.

I connect new LG Blu -Ray On my Sony Cineza Projector.but only blue colour on the screen ,what is the problem here?

You might have to change the input or start playing blu-ray disc and then change input via the remote to your projector. Make sure it's HDMI out on blu-ray if choice is given and HDMI in on projector.

The fleshtones of people on the screen is blue

This is not really a solution but when mine does this I switch the input to the projector to another video source and then back again. this usually makes it go away. If you find a better solution I would appreciate hearing it. Thanks.
