2005 225 optimax. Had a little stall getting on plane. Changed the fuel filter and made it worse. Barely gets on plane and when on plane don't run like it used to. Any ideas?

it appears to be a fuel starvationproblem
it can be from the tank vent still locked close
fule lines collapsing internally
fuel pump diaphragm fai;lure
blockage in the main jets
even tye hand pump bulge in the line can be failing and blocking the fuel lines

Masada pu ran out of gas will not only if i prime, for a few seconds

Fuel pump is not running (if electric) or floats stuck. Outside of those, hole in fuel line, possibly even line in tank. My old one had a sight glass on the float bowl where you could see if fuel was in it.

Where is the fuel cutoff switch located for 1998 nissan pathfinder

Reseting the fuel pump kill switch.

Before you reset the fuel pump, make sure to read all of the following instructions!!!!!

            • MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GAS IN YOUR TANK! IF IT IS EMPTY, THE FUEL PUMP MIGHT NOT NEED TO BE RESET, IT ****** ****** MIGHT ONLY NEED TO BE PRIMED, PUT AT LEAST TWO GALLONS IN THE TANK AND SKIP TO "Step 4". ******

1.) Look for an access panel in the trunk, driver's side; it might even be labeled "Fuel Pump Reset".

2.) Open the compartment and press the red button. This should reset the pump.

3.) At this point it might be a good idea to "burp" the fuel tank. This will probably be the easiest thing you do all day! Just pop the cover and unscrew the gas cap, this will release any preasure built up inside the tank. As long as you're in a controled environment, go ahead and leave the cap open until you finish "Step 4". Otherwise "burp" it a couple of times while you're priming the lines.

4.) The next step is to prime the pump. In other words, make sure there is enough gas in the fuel lines to start the car. The easiest way to do this is by turning the key back and forth from the "OFF" to the "ON" position. *** Be sure not to turn all the way to the "START" position until you have performed "Step 4", at least 3 or 4 times. If you attempt to start the car before the fuel pump is properly primed, you will run a serious risk of burning out the pump. This could lead to even more costly repairs!!!

5.) Replace the gas cap before attempting ignition.

6.) Once you have reset the pump, burped the tank, primed the fuel lines, and replaced the gas cap; you should be all set! Go ahead and give it a crank, good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuel pump problems. I have replaced my fuel pump on a 1995 chev 2500. Truck will not start unless i prime it with gas. Fuel is not getting to the motor. What am i missing

you may have an air leak in the fule line from the fule tank this is letting fule run back to the tank when you stop the engine running over night check all the fule pipes are air tight and do not have crossed or striped threds on them

When i prime the bulb try to start it will run for abot 2 seconds and will not run.you pull and pull and it will not start.we have cleaned the carb and gas lines.the saw is just one year old.i bought it at...

Inspect your hose routing. it should be similar to this:
9bb9cf4.gif
  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed. HTH

Tahoe will not start new fuel pump/w/filter

BE WARNED!!! i was a GM mechanic for years, i personally found out for myself, that many if those pumps bought from parts stores auto zone, orielly's, napa, etc... have the possibility of being bad from the factory, i once worked on a 98 silverado, the customer had replaced the pump 3 times with an auto zone pump, every time the pump would either not even start the truck or it would loose pressure within a week or two. after we installed a new GM pump he no longer had an issue, sometimes its worth it to pay a little bit more and buy a pump from a dealer, plus if you buy a GM part, it comes with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty, even if you buy it over the counter and install it yourself.
