I would suggest you go to the itunes website and down load the latest version of itunes.
This is also possible through itunes, as you can have the program check for up dates.
I have had some issues with earlier itunes but the latest copies seem to be better.
I have also set up itunes for automatic check for updates, this way itunes is constantly updated.

If you copy is current, then i would remove it using the add/remove software tool in the windows control panel. an reinstall the latsest version of itunes.

Hope this is of some help.

How to sync my i pod classic in i tunes

Hello, friend. If you are running iTunes below version 11, I can help you. Open iTunes and plug in your iPod. On the left hand side there should be your iPod name, go to your iTunes playlist and drag the songs you want to your iPod. For all of the songs, go to your iPod music library, even if you don't have songs, and on the bottom there should be a blue-ish bar. There might be a box saying "Autofill from iTunes library" click that ONLY if you want ALL songs from your iTunes to your iPod.
Or You may try this ipod transfer, it's a nice iTunes alternative that can help you manage iPod files including delete, upload, play, copy, etc. It's much easier to use than iTunes.

Ipod classic won't sync with itunes 10

Restarting your computer is often the solution when your iPod fails to sync with your iTunes music library. But if this fails, there are other troubleshooting steps to take.

Recharge your iPod via a USB cable connected to your computer or AC adapter. b> Click the help menu in iTunes and check for updates. Follow the onscreen prompts to download and install the latest version of the software. Open the new version of iTunes. Click the name of your iPod in the source list and check for updates under the summary tab to update your iPod. Attempt to sync your iPod with iTunes. Slide your iPod's hold switch to the hold position and then to off. Press and hold the menu and center buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears to reset your iPod. Open iTunes on your computer and reconnect your iPod to try to sync it with iTunes. Restart iPod service b> Close iTunes and make sure your iPod is disconnected from the computer. Click the 'start' button. Click 'run' if using Windows XP. Type 'services.msc' in the run box in XP and in the search box in the start menu in Windows 7 and Vista. Press 'enter.' Scroll through the list and double-click on 'iPod service.' Click the 'stop' button and leave the properties window open. Connect your iPod to the computer. Open 'my computer' or 'computer' and look for your iPod listed in the devices with removable storage section. Click the 'start' button in the iPod Service's properties window. Open iTunes to attempt to sync your iPod. Close the iPod Service's properties window once your iPod has finished syncing. Resolve "Original File could not be Found" Double-click the name of a song in the iTunes program that failed to sync to your iPod. Click 'yes' or 'locate' to the message asking you if you want to locate the file. Navigate to the folder or directory location where the song is stored on your computer. Double-click the song file to select it and add it back to iTunes. Reconnect your iPod to the computer and open iTunes to restart the syncing process. How to download songs from computer to Apple ipod classic 80GB

You're going to need iTunes to do this, download it here. Once you've done this you can import all your music and videos to iTunes, and then use it to put your media onto your iPod.
Hope this helps!

IPod Errors

Distinct clicking, right? Your hard drive is about to crash completely. Other than the ticking, your problems are probably because the hard drive is not giving out the information it needs to because it can't. You need either a new Hard drive or a new player. once you get it all of you problems should go away.

Ipod Classic 80GB won't sync

i took my ipod to the apple store, they ran diagnostics, and it passed everything. i thaught it was a spot on the hard drive, becsue in the process in syncing it stopped at the same number each time (i.e 81 of 334) and freeze. i recently downloaded a song from a website, when i put it on my ipod when it still worked, it would freexze my ipod each time i tried to play it. it was just that one song. then i synced again, things were fine with it for a whle until i sunced it a month later. Apple told me there was a bad song pon there and i instanty knew it was that one and i deleted it. ever since, my ipod is fine.
to find the bad songs, Apple told me to make playlists of my library, in like quarters, sync one at a time if for example the 3rd playlist has problems going on, the song is on there. and just narrow it down. i deleted each song that froze in syncing like 81 of 334.. i would delete #81. (it gives the title you know that) i ended up just having to delete 1 podcast episode and one song, and things are fine.
if you have this problem, plug your ipod up to itunes, on itunes go under the menu , under help> diagnostics. (second to last one) and run it on connection, or anyting you want.. to make sure it isn't on the connection. if not, you have a bad song. also KEEP YOUR SOFTWARE UP TO DATE!!@

Ipod classic 80 GB wouldnt allow me to load music.. now it wont appear in itunes either

My classic won't sync at all. When I plug it into a USB port a screen comes up on my ipod saying "connected" then within seconds it's replaced by another screen that says "ejecting"

It works fine on my son's PC and my wifes Mac. Just not on mine. I have disabled the firewall. Tried all the various USB ports. I know cable is fine cause it works on other computers. I have latest in ITunes and have service pak 2 with XP. So needless to say I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this. HELP!!!!
