The problem is the graphic card. There are some guys who manage to resolder the ATI Chip on the card but the best thing is to buy a working one on ebay and replace the graphic card under the keyboard. Possible board part numbers 336968-001 or 336969-001 or 336970-001

Monitor and keyboard not working

Please send your specs at my email address [email protected] and I will definitely find you a solution. However if the monitor isn't working that's probably because it's not plugged in or the cable isn't in the video port. Keyboard can only function if the system is turned on and also plugged into its connector. The thing about replacing a video card is dependent if replacing the video card will help and although it would be wise to actually consult your manual for upgrading or changing anything that comes from Compaq. I would recommend that you do so by consulting with Compaq or your retailer. If all else fails then try the two very first solutions and buying an AGP would depend if it can take the load on the motherboard. My HP Compaq 6730b screen isn't coming on. All the

Does it seem like the laptop booted up all the way except the screen is black? If so try the steps below:

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barelysee the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can beany kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vgacable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves yourvideo card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you rebootwithout you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN(Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correctkey for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key willnormally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash lightand nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card isbad.

My compaq fs7600 monitor wont turn on

Hook a spare monitor to the computer, if no change! the Video Graphics Card is suspect usually built into the motherboard. But if spare shows picture, the problem lies in the HP monitor, as a last resort change the video cord from the computer to the monitor "if possible" to rule out something simple.

The problem lies in your ram. Pull the modules, swap their positions and reboot. The contacts are dirty and by removing them, they again make proper contact. Blow out dust. You will be fine.

1) Is this a laptop or a desktop?
2) What OS are you running?
3) When was the last time that it booted successfully? Did anything change then? Did you upgrade the OS? Did you upgrade the software (firmware) on the processor (Intel or AMD)?
4) Do you see anything on the screen? Compaq logo? Boot options?

No picture on screen

Try connecting the CRT to a different (desktop or laptop) computer, to confirm that the CRT is still working.

Try connecting a different CRT (or LCD) monitor to your computer, to confirm that your computer is sending video-output.

If possible, try a different "data" cable between the computer and the CRT.

My Computer Monitor not show anything

the last CRT running on earth? wow , do a youtube, ah too late.
sorry.
the secret lock there is there to keep you from touching
the 15,000 volts , inside, even turned off it can hold that charge.
can be lethal or sends you flying across room , hit head or worse.

so they put a lock there to protect the unknowing. (see it worked?)
good !
find a real LCD monitor, 2010 or newer,
with LED back lamps, skipping the horrid CCLF back lamp era totally is wise choice.
try walfart?

HP Compaq 2710p: External monitor does not display anything

Hi,

The display properties indicate the hardware is working, so it's likely just a setting.

On HP/Compaq models you will see a picture, usually on the F4 key that looks like a screen with two lines beside it.

You need to hold down the Fn key(bottom left) and then push the F4 key at the same time to cycle between LCD, external or both.
If it is a newer model, a menu will pop up when you do this asking if you want to duplicate the LCD on the external, switch to the external or extend the desktop onto the external. Select the appropriate setting or continue holding down Fn while pressing F4 to cycle between the settings to the one you want.

If you have re-installed the computer at some point with anything other than the factory recovery set this may not work and I will have to give you a longer set of instructions.

If this works please rate this as fixed, if not reply back and indicate what version of windows you're using and I will post the instructions for the "long" way.
