I am in Canada and I cannot get a Black & Decker 36V charger which is LCS36. The B & D 36V battery looks identical to the Dewalt 36V battery but I cannot be positive. Do you know if the B & D LBXR36 battery is the same configuration as the Dewalt DC9360 battery? If it is, the dc9000 Dewalt charger would work on my B & D LBXR36 battery

Use locktite red on the threads. It may also be that one bolt is left hand thread and the other side is standard right hand thread. The should be on so that moving forward tightens the nut. You should also have two washers and a nut. I wonder if you have the one that was discontinued?

This worked for me .. Put battery in charger , unplug and plug in charger repeatedly until it charges

Place battery in charger , unplug and repeatedly plug in till charging

Could be a bad battery. Check it with a different battery

For the price a Dewalt costs, you can buy a few reconditioned cheap cordless drills and keep them all charged up. You will always have a standby. You can also check the pawn shops. With times like they are many people are getting rid of good stuff. You can find a great deat but always use a trustworthy pawn shop and get a receipt with the serial number on it. Theives like pawn shops, too.

Is it the charger or the battery? Have you tried other batteries? If the battery is bad (they do go bad over time) then the charger wont work. But chargers also go bad too and can't be fixed. I've had four Dewalt charges go bad over the years (same parent company)

Call Black and Decker customer service, or better yet a DeWalt service center nearest to you.  Tell them you have this kit.  They are willing to give you 20% off a new DeWalt cordless kit.  Parts are non existing for this Delta Shopmaster set.  Black and Decker bought Delta just after this set was on the market.  I have searched and searched, all I can find is battery rebuilders.  I had the exact problem you had with the charger.  I tried to retrofit other manufacturers battery chargers, to this sets batteries, and still no dice.  I would call the nearest DeWalt/Black & Decker/Porter Cable/Delta service center and talk to them about a trade in on your units.  Something for this set is better than nothing I guess?  I think I am going to go this route with my set.

You can contact a Dewalt Service Center to see if they have the diagram. Black and Decker is Dewalts lower priced line. A quick search on their website did not reveal anything. They may not have the diagram. As far as I know there are no parts available for the chargers so you may have a hard time locating the diagram. Try giving Dewalt a call.

Power supply for the VP130 is a 4.32v 210ma AC transformer.
The AC supply is fed to the charger battery box where there are two diodes one for each battery.
each battery is 3.6 volts.
