CE usually stands for clear Entry. It clears what you entered before pressing the = or EXE key.
The only number you can zero out (as you say) is zero itself. The others, you can just erase them. Press the AC (Clear all) or a reset button to clear what is stored in variables.

Testimonial: "I don't have an AC button and that's why I'm running into issues. Would the reset button be some sort of a symbol?"

Turn the calcultor over. Under the plastic pad on the right (when calculator is returned) there is a reset button. Pull the pad away from calculator to remove it.

Thanks but that would be really cumbersome every time I want to clear all the numbers. I have figured out that if I press the * button twice it clears all stored numbers. Thanks

Avery 1770, keeps beeping and number one keeps repeating as if someone is constantly pressing number one.then it could stop for six weeks then just start again.is ther anyway of stopping this?

I think this has been answered very fully by Dazzy B - his answer is below :-

The zero capture is out of the 2percent tolerance so the cell is either faulty or requires zeroing. Open the unit and press and hold the micro switch on the left of the board. The display flashes s. Press the zero key to change to flashing E. Press store to scroll to zero balance. Press semi auto tare. This captures zero without clearing the span calibration. The display will scroll around for a short period when complete press store.. Release the micro switch and scale will go thru warm up routine then display zero. Hope this helps, regs Darren.

How can I repeat the same divisor without having to key in the number every time

Hi Steven:
You should be able to key in the number, then press (memory plus).
After that, press (clear) once. That should leave the number in memory but leave the display at zeroes.
- 1) Then you would enter your number, Press (divide) symbol, then press (memory recall), then press (equals).
The answer should display. Press (clear) once. resets to zero
- Repeat (1) as above for next numbers.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

How do I multiply numbers?

Clear the LCD screen to zero
To multiply numbers, enter the first number by typing the number key pad; press the "X" key and enter the next number; to tabulate those two numbers, press the "=" key

For example, if you want to multiply the two numbers 125 by 425, the expression pressed on the calculator would be 125 X 425 =

CE button doesn't clear on my SHARP EL-2630PIII

CE stands for Clear Entry. It clears the number that one just entered. To clear the results of a previous calculation use the key AC, if calculator has one. Otherwise try pressing the CE key twice or enter 0, because that is what the clear button will do.

Please tell me in E-Z words how to set the clock and calendar on the Canon MP11DX calculator? Manual instructions, which I cannot locate anyway, are absolutely unclear. Please HELP!

To set the calender: Press the Calender/Time button. Press and hold the Time Set button for 3 seconds; the first digit of the date will start blinking. Then type in the date as two digit number for the month and date and a 4 digit number for the year. Add a zero in front of the month or day if under 10. Then press Time Set again. Press the CE/C button to return to the Calculation mode
(hold for 3 seconds)
Thus for today [Cal/Time] [Time Set] 0 9 1 5 2 0 1 0 [Time Set] [CE/C]

(hold for 3 seconds)
For December 1, 2010 [Cal/Time] [Time Set] 1 2 0 1 2 0 1 0 [Time Set] [CE/C]

To set the Time from the Calculator mode, you press the Calender/Time button twice before pressing and holding the Time Set button for 3 seconds; again the first digit of the current time will blink. Then type in the time as a 4 digit number followed by the AM/PM button to switch from AM to PM or PM to AM. Then press the Time Set button again and then the CE/C button to return to the calculator mode. You will see an A (AM) or P (PM) to the right of the time as you set it.

So for 5:06 PM you type
(hold for 3 seconds)
[Cal/Time] [Cal/Time] [Time Set] 0 5 0 6 [AM/PM] [Time Set] [CE/C]

I hope this helps. You can find the manual here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/calculators/printing_calculators/mp11dx#BrochuresAndManuals as a pdf.

(I'm using Cal/Time for the button that has an icon that looks like a 1 month calender on the left and a clock on the left.)

How do clear the scanner to re program it

Programming a frequency into a channel clears the previous channel entry, so there's really no need to "clear" the scanner for reprogramming. To eliminate an unwanted frequency, you can either press the LOCKOUT key to prevent the scanner from stopping on a specific channel, or you can "zero" a channel:

1. Press SCAN/MAN to stop
scanning.
2. Use the number keys to enter
the channel number (1-200)
you want to clear.
3. Press PGM. F=C appears.
4. Press 0 then ENT. The
frequency number changes to
000.0000 to indicate the
channel is cleared.

Need the manual for your scanner? You can download/print it here:

Will not do simple math

Yeah, this calculator is kind of odd in that the keys to the left of the numbers ([÷], [×] and [=]) work more like standard calculators, but the keys to the right ([-] and [+]) work more like they're RPN (more common on HP calculators). To calculate 1000-490, type "[CE/C] 1000 [+] 490 [-]". What happens is this: after clearing then entering 1000, the [+]adds it to the last result (in this case 0), giving us 1000. This number is saved when you enter 490, and pressing [-] subtracts it from the last result (1000), giving you 510.
