Usually, a "UM.MSI" error means that the update manager may have become corrupted and needs to be reinstalled

To resolve :

> Permanently remove the Sonic Update Manager. This will not affect the performance of any Sonic/Roxio software currently installed on the system.

> Reinstall the application.if any errors while installing then install the fix.

> This may be caused by removing certain non-Sonic/Roxio applications that share file resources with our Sonic/Roxio software. To fix, you will need to replace these files with this fix utility: http://tools.roxio.com/support/dell/isum_hotfix.exe

> Be sure all Sonic and Roxio applications are shut down before launching this utility. This hotfix requires a reboot. No reinstallation of the software is necessary.

It show windows name roxio update manager when I press browse it ask file name : UM.MSI and file type : Istallation Package

If you have the Roxio disk , insert the disk in the cd-dvd drive -point the browse location to the drive letter for your cd-dvd drive and click OK.....it should update the msi source packages and correct the issue. I assume this is requesting the original source packages and location. Possibly due to some corrupt or missing files. Will need more details on the message. If that does not work you may need to uninstall and re-install roxio. If it came pre-installed on your pc go to the manufacturer web site and update or download and install roxio from there. Hope this helps....

Follow this procedure and your problem will be resolved. Do exactly i say..!

Step 1:- First Downlaod the windows Clean up utility.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Click on the link above --> and then Under Summary Option on this page.

Click on the link mention below:-
( Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package now. )

Install the windows clean up utility on the computer.

Once it is installed Hit the finish button.

Now Click on start-->go to All programs-->navigate
Microsoft windows Clean up utility software.--> click on it and runn it.

Once the Clean up utility window opens up.

Find out sonic Update Manager in the list you see.

Click on it and highlight it .

Now click on the button remove at the botton of that screen.

Once it is gone. Restart the computer your system will not pop up that message again.

( Reason :- The reason why you are getting that message is that the sonic Update Manager software is not installed properly on your system which is why it keeps poping up the MSI ( microsoft Installer ) on your screen for sonic Update Manager. )

So to get rid of it just remove the MSI from the list in windows clean up utility and it will not pop up again.

Let me know if it works for you.

Please do follow the instructions as provided. It will work.

There could or should be an item in setup that allow you to disable the auto update feature. Failing that, you could search the registry for the keys that invoke this, but that is for advanced users. Otherwise, download Revo Unistaller and get quit of the program.
