hello, in the print manager for this printer, when you pull it up, the advanced section has 2 boxes listed toner saver, the options are yes or no. make sure to select yes
sounds like you may have a flat spot on fuser pressure roller causing a knocking sound as it warms up and when it prints. You may need new fuser assembly...
I would have guessed the trouble shooting steps you first performed. It could still be a bad imaging drum. Or a fuser. Not sure if this model has a replaceable fuser or not.
You need to reset the drum counter. Open the front door and hold the go button until all the lights flash. Shut the door, ready to print...If you press the go button 3 times it will give you a printout that shows the usage level of the drum.
