Generally this is due to ground problem, signal gnd and power gnd need to be separate (i faced the same problem even i dint do anything from hardware side .. don ask me hw it happned).. open the volume controller u will find a small PCB (printed circuit board) with volume control ,LED and a connector. see at the back side of the voume control u will see five pins starting from right side short 1st and fourth pin. provided you connect ground of both cables which goes inside the volume controller.. it works for me.. you may experiment as i did...

hey dont worry yaar , im also looked for a week for the solution . at last i removed the volume controller myself and joined the RED+GREEN as one and then Joined BLUE+YELLOW+WHITE and connect the ground togather(copper wire) . Then it worked .. No problem Trust me

  • Anonymous Jul 25, 2011

That was helpful, shorting 2 and 3 from the right helped and is giving consistent results when I short and unshort them manually with a piece of small wire or any connecting piece of metal. ust used a short piece of cut wire to size (few millimeters) and a cello tape to keep it in place. you may use solder for a more permanent solution.

  • Anonymous Jul 25, 2011

BTW, I did not want to get that messy an involved but Bharathij's idea worked and made me do the above. Thomaspmathe's idea may work because he is eventually shorting the wires of which the connections may be shorted on board but beware, each shorting or opening of th connections causes effect to the voice, treble and bass. So preferably perform Thomaspmathe's idea as a last resort because you are also removing the volume control completely from the system then, but again is an option to get your system working.

dude i think for creative sbs we have to use ac transformer .. as it requires only ac current there is no need for adapter with the rectifing circuit . so u can use a tranformer rated 12v and .5 or 1 amp I am not sure abot the amp rating just check the cae you are having .

Can i use AC Adaptor that has input: 230V-50Hz output: 9VDC to Creative SBS 2.1 370 Speaker?

The Creative SBS 370 Works on 11.5V AC (IT IS NOT DC) 1600mA (Means 1.6 Ampere) and 18.4VA. So, the Power Adaptor which you connect to the power socket behind the woofer is an AC ADAPTOR and NOT A DC ACAPTOR.

Creative SBS 2.1 370 Speaker. hello how are you today, i have a question regarding the wiring in the volume on and off switch in the Creative SBS 2.1 370 Speaker setup, ive lost the little contoller some...

posted by Sandeep Sharma
hai, Here is the solution. when u cut the PCB from both sides u will find 4 cables i.e. green blue yellow and a copper wire coming from woofer and 3 cables white, red, yellow coming from audio lead. connect the green cable to copper cable and yellow to blue coming from woofer. Now take white cable coming from audio jack.connect this with yellow blue cables of woofer. Now attach Red and Yellow, connect these to green and copper cables of woofer and enjoy. if problem persist then make experiment to make interchanges with red white yellow coming from audio lead to the 2 sections of woofer side. woofer connections green/copper and yellow/blue remain same.

My spekaer doesnt work.......it is properly connected to the cpu .............speaker problem or OS problem?

check to make sure you are getting power to the speaker system and that the audio jack is plugged into the green jack on your sound card. also open up volume control and make sure its not muted and that it recognizes it. when u turn the volume up if you dont see any green movement on the bar then you have a sound driver issue. go to device manger in xp right click on my computer properties then device manager and see if there is a red or yellow mark on your sound card on vista and win 7 go to my computer then system prop, then device manager.

Creative SBS 2.1 370 Speaker - Volume Remote Controller not worki

Hi Arun!

Try to plug your speakers to an iPod or any MP3 Player to check if there's sound. If there is sound, then try plugging it to the green port at the back of your speakers.

If it doesn't have sounds then you need to buy a new speaker system.

NO SOUND

Have you checked on the PC that its not muted.? There is normally an icon at the bottom of the screen which looks like a speaker if you right click on it, it will give an option to open the volume controls. Check this to see if sounds have been muted.
