I was loading internet via a USB wifi stick and computer froze 1hr later I turned it off with power button. now computer says NO Bootable device. could this have been the USB WIFI to cause issue? Any fixes

You could use windows media creation tool https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 and press on download creation tool, use it to boot a windows 10 on a 8gb+ usb stick, it's pretty easy to use, first download the tool, insert a usb stick into your laptop, or use a friend laptop to create a bootable usb sitck with windows, and then open the tool, and follow the instructions, wait until the windows downloads directly onto your usb stick and then you can just insert it into your broken laptop, turn it on, and install the windows, if you don't know how to install it, google for steps, i am sure you will find something (mention: the above windows is free version) How To Easily Create Windows 10 Bootable USB Drive

I don’t know if it is possible with a USB with Windows image on it to repair, then it should be a bootable USB and the nextbook should be able from bios to boot from it.

Ok how to do this using the realtek driver (chip makers support )
RTL8139 only,!!!! as seen in DM and the Red X on for this.step by step (click by click no, )

1. go to good PC, with web working, google works, ok>? not dead your netwolrk dead PC
2. Go here. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=6&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#1
3. Click Global line 3 , v5.719, at chip makers page above.
4. Down load this file and copy it to your USB thumb drive Flash memory stick.,
5. click on the stick (local explorer) and unzip it on the stick and bingo over 10 files there and 3 folders,
6. (do a disconnect from usb, properly ) and remove said stick.
7. leave good PC, walk to Dead PC (means network is dead)
8. plug in USB memory stick from above into dead pc.
9. using xp local explorer, go to the USB STICK (E:?)
10. see 10 files and setup.exe,? run setup.
11. it runs and the driver is completely loaded. (sigh)
12. Now ethernet works, if lucky, keep in mind the HP support is dead this old PC. and some things can be hard to fix lacking that. (that is why its better to upgrade)

I cant see your device manager page, for networks, but the factory
service manual states this PC has the 8139 chip, if yes, then the above should work.


XP and above has a built in unzip engine. (that all PC need)
right click the zip file and pick extract.
be sure to extract all files there not just 1. to the USB thumb drive.
what I do is make a folder on the usb drive called
RTL8139 , then put the zip there and the expand, (unzip)
it there, over 10 files and 3 folders. and find the setup.exe.

better is to have 7zip free program loaded on all PC.

wifi data from tablets and phone are not strong enough to support speeds and loads needed for steaming with these devices. They are only designed to work with house wifi and strong routers. Chromcast, Roku, fire sticks,Ge, Sony etc. streaming devices will not work on mobile data

Please Install OS correctly or if it is installed than repair your OS with Bootable OS disk or USB stick

If you are talking about the wire that comes from your modem to your dlink2330L, yes you have to have it hooked up via wire. Then your wireless "wifi" capable devices connect the the internet wirelessly through the modem. If you are talking about having to hook up a wire from the router to a computer to get the computer to get on the internet, that computer may not have a "wifi" device built into it. If the later is the case you can buy small "wifi" devices (like a "Bear Extender) that plug into your usb port to make them wireless.

You will need:
A working computer with Windows
A 2GB or larger USB stick
Internet connection

After you've made your USB stick, when booting up the computer you wish to install ubuntu on be sure you have the USB stick inserted when powering it on. When the start screen comes up press ESC to enter the BIOS or boot order. Select the USB stick from within the BIOS boot order menu, or the USB stick from the boot options menu.

Load ubuntu, install, enjoy.

The USB port on most computers is not a bootable USB port. Only after Windows has started up. the USB device driver is running then the USB port will work
UNLESS
Some later model computers/laptop have a bootable USB port and you can change the boot order in the BIOS configuration and change the devices boot order to make the USB port the first boot device.

Try updating your system the manual way:

recovery menu 'safe mode'.

Press and hold the power button until the systems shuts off. (wait 2 seconds)

Press and hold the power button again until you here 3 beeps. Let go.

It should ask you to connect your controller via usb and press the PS button in

the middle of your controller. There will be a menu with 6 options. Perform 6, "system update."

If this doesn't work, when your system froze and you powered it down, you may have corrupted your Hard Drive (Hard Disk). You will need to replace it.

When you replace your hard drive, you will need to have the latest firmware on a

usb stick. Download the firmware from the playstation official website onto a usb

stick. Once prompted by your system you will need to insert the usb stick into the

PS3. Good luck..

is ur WIFI connected thru USB ?
then ur USB is losing power...
check if ur USB setting...
go to Device Manager/USB Serial Bus/USB root hub...
go to each ports one by one....right click on each check properties...check Power Mgt tab....
remove the Tick in the box that says "Allow computer to save power'....
close Device Manager/ Shutdown and restart....
