How to open the unit to troubleshoot a no steam problem. Cannot remove the carry grip to get to the last two screws that hold the two halves of the body together.

Remove the torx screws that hold the two halves of the ball shell assembly together, then the ball halves can be separated and removed from the vacuum. Take note of how they come apart and how they line up su you can reassemble them properly.

it's glued together. It's not made to repair. Throw it away and don't buy another Shark product. They are disposable.

I am unsure why you would be removing the handle to clean it. It really is not necessary, but the handle grip is held together with 6 screws, take out the screws the two halves come off of the handle pipe.

I have the same problem with my older '80s Tristar.
This may work for your model, give it a try.
On mine, there are 3 phillips head screws holding the two halves of the cleaner together, and the rubber bumper.
You have to remove the screws first. Your model may have more or less screws.
On mine, there are two screws near the front wheels, down deep. I had problems taking them out, but not to worry, once they are loose, they are no longer holding the other half, don't worry about taking them fully out.
Also, at the rear, there is a small black plastic clip that has a screw in it. You'll need to remove that too. Once all the screws are removed, use a medium sized flat head screwdriver to go behind the rubber seal -- you're looking to get the screwdriver to where you can see or feel the edge of the canister. Simply twist the screwdriver a bit and the canister should feel like it's coming apart. Mess around with that for a bit, and the parts should come apart easily.

There is a push in type flat plastic switch trim cover over the metal housing surrounding the switch.. You must unplug the cord, gently pry around the trim cover and you will find a screw, an irregular one underneath holding the switch in place. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN when reinstalling this one or you will crack the switch.

Once removed the rear housing will come off. Then you will see several new philips round head screws holding the front housing onto the vac.With all screws removed the housing should open easily but there may be dirty film inside holding the halves together. The fan shaft will unscrew revealing the fan, a spacer behind and perhaps two different spacer washers. Install the new fan hand tight, washers and spacers in same order...
Good effort figuring this one out. Please post back with results.

Believe this model has switch in grip,
1. Unplug unit.
2. remove screws from grip.
separate the grip halves to access switch.
3. I believe the power cord, where it enters the grip, has slip on terminals that fit on the switch. Just substitute the wires and re-assemble.

Should not require any soldering. Be careful, routing of the cord in the handle is difficult as I remember, depending on the year model, sometime in late 90s they went from a molded in strain relief to a serpentine path.

I suspect you have done something on this by now but . . . You need to pry out a plastic cap/insert in the top of the handle. Beneath it are 1-2 screws to remove. The halves will then come apart. I have mine broken down but have no idea what to do now. It is not making steam. Reply if you have any thoughts.

Do you mean the handle? If so, there are 2 screws and nuts holding the top part of the handle on, remove these then pull off the top part. Then on the back, near the bottom, are 2 holes that go in aways and there is a screw in each one, remove them and the two halves of the handle will come apart and you can get to the heater and lines.

If your steam mop is Enviro Steam Mop by Eureka. remove the 2 screws on the bottom of the steamer, that holds the center panel on. (Not the screws that hold the whole bottom.) Use a needle the clear the steam holes. Soak the panel in white vinegar for a couple of hours and scrub with aa brush to remove the lime calcium deposits. Check the center hole that goes into the steam and make sure it is clear. Reattach the panel. If the panel does not fit snuggly (either end does not contact the base panel, add two more screws about an inch in from either side. I used stainless steal screws because of the consist moisture. Used screws that are no more than 3/4 on an inch long and about the same diameter as the two you removed.

I solved the problem, the metal (hot!) release rod gets stuck & needs a little push.
Unfasten the top by prying off the rubber gasket after removing the top. Remove the 2 small phillips screws, then remove the front that holds the nozzle, & remove those 2 phillips screws.
Carefully pry up the top with a putty knife, inside you will see the tip of a metal piston that the plastic release knob is supposed to contact. Set it on its front, & soak the piston with a light household or sewing oil, giving it a few taps with a blunt object occassionaly to loosen, heat up & test before reassembling, but remember, the piston is very hot. When you push on the piston with a screwdriver, it should release the steam, but also stop when you let go. Work with it a little & it will come back to life.
