Tomtom One not doesn't calculate arrival time correctly.

Tomtom One is always inaccurate when calculating arrival time. On longer trips, say 1 to 3 hours, its about 30 minutes too high at the start. On shorter trips, say 20 minutes to 45 minutes, its about 10 minutes too high. As I proceed, it constantly lessens the arrival time until I get to my destination, at which time it is correct. That doesn't help when planning a trip, though. This has nothing to do with a certain area. In the last 2 weeks, this GPS has been in Canada and the US, and its the same everywhere.

I have two Tomtoms - a brand new Tomtom One 3rd edition I got for my birthday on April 5th, and Tomtom One XL-S I just bought refurbished from Amazon with the intention of giving to my girlfriend.

My 3rd edition is great with arrival times. The refurbished XL-S I just got, however, is way off! Example: I set both to the same route. It read 4.3 miles on each display, same exact route. However, my 3rd edtition gave me a 12 minute arrival time, while my XL-S gave me a 36 minute arrival time!

At the end of my trip, my XL-S was telling me that it was going to take me 3.5 minutes to travel the last 1/2 mile! That's almost running speed.

I'm currently looking for solutions but have not come up with anything. Perhaps my XL-S simply needs to be updated with the latest maps and application software. The Tomtom home program told me that it has the latest maps - I tried to update it to the latest software but encountered an error. Will try again from a less buggy computer...

I suggest any unit under warranty to be returned to its supplier or if they will not help, contact tomtom directly!

SOURCE: tomtom - time of arrival

It is possible that you have the TomTom set for "walking routes" or "bicycle routes" or "limited speed." (I have a TomTom One 3rd edition, so if you have a different model the menus/icons may be different, but it's worth a shot.)

Click on the main part of the screen, while on the main navigation screen. Then click on "Change preferences." Then click the blue arrow to scroll to the Preferences 3 of 5 page. Click on "Planning preferences." Choose the planning preferences that you want. Hope this helps...

SOURCE: error during planning

The most usual reason for this is a corrupted map. Try reloading the map. This certainly worked for me.

SOURCE: Tomtom1 keeps restarting itself

try resetting it, if that doesnt work, connect your unit to tomtom home. if you dont have tomtom home, follow the link at the bottom.

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:

  1. Check that the battery is charged properly.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.

  2. Remove the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, remove it.

  3. Reset your device.
Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for 15 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.

  4. Turn your device on.
Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.

  5. Insert the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

My tomtom start s/n BL2025B90193 gives inaccurate arriving at destination update map and my software per tomtom home/connect. It says arriving at destination I have not arrived at my destination

This will happen when the map info is incorrect ... by a short distance or a long ways.
If your map is not up-to-date, this may happen. If this is the case, updating your map may help.
The tomtom (navigation) software enables you to correct the map data and to share it (using your tomtom HOME software) with tomtom / others. Hopefully, the correction will be verified by TomTom (map data provider) and the map data will be corrected in the next release of the map.

My calculator was left outside in the rain and doesn't turn on. I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with it specifically. It just doesn't operate.

The CPU of your calculator most likely got wet and rusted up the parts. If not, the screen may have gotten water damage. Either way, it will no longer work and you will have to buy a new one.

When I insert the statistical data in my Casio FX9750GII Graphic Calculator it gives out inaccurate value of mean and standard deviation. What should I do?

It is difficult to know exactly WHY it gives you inaccurate values, or does it? I am inclined to believe that you might (just might) have made mistakes entering the data. (A single error in an extreme value will affect the mean).

I would blame the calculator only after I have made certain that I did not make mistakes myself. (That is my way of doing things.)

Make sure you have the proper angular mode set. The TI-84 can work with degrees or radians.

Press MODE to bring up the mode screen. Use the arrow keys to highlight either "Radian" or "Degree" on the third line and press ENTER. Press 2ND [QUIT] to exit the mode screen.

If this doesn't do it, please reply to this post giving an example of a calculation and the answer you're getting from the calculator.

This is a very common problem with ANY brand of GPS. Even if you have the most current and updated map, there are some mistakes in the GPS addresses. It should only happen occasionally, maybe once every couple of weeks. As I said before, it's not unheard of for TomTom, Garmin, Magellan or any bradn of GPS

TI-83 Plus No Longer Squares Correctly

when you type -2 imagine your calculator doing the equation: -1 x 2. The - sign actually stands for a -1 so when you do -2 squared your calculator is simply following order of operations. It first squares the 2 making it 4, then it multiplies the negative making it -4. In order to get around this you must use parenthese. (-2)^2.

Hope this helped

Solver not working properly

try a simple equation like x^2-1 which should come out with x = 1,-1

no sign change would indicate that the graph of the curve never crosses the x axis, if you graphed the above equation and calculated the zeros, it would come out with -1, 1 which it should, but if you put in x^2+1, the graph would never cross and therefore have no sign change from pos to neg or vice versa, the left-rt are the left and right bounds or the lower and upper bounds which was corrected in later calculators, Please let me know the outcome of graphing both of the above equations and then putting them in the solver. you could also use the quadratic equation to prove the answers if you liked, hope this helps
