Hi
Normally a fast freeze button is just that, it turns the compressor on permanently to freeze things down quickly.
I suspect that your run light is linked to the thermostat, and does not indicate that the freezer is turned off but that the temperature of the freezer is above the temperature set on the thermostat and the compressor is running to bring the temperature down. Once the temperature is at or below the thermostat temperature then the compressor will stop and the red light probably goes out, indicating the the freezer is at the right temperature.
It won't go out with the fast freeze on because to freeze food quickly the thermostat is by-passed and the compressor runs continuously.
Hope this helps.
Good day, When the thermostat is turned on, the fan and compressor should come on and start at the same time. If the compressor continues to run and the fan doesn't, then the fan motor or the wiring to it are suspect.
Quote (The fan motor is o.k ). I doen't know how you tested it, but it still remains suspect, since the thermostat sends power to both of them at the same time.
Try thawing out the freezer....Put all your food in a cooler, unplug the freezer and leave the door open, let the freezer sit for a few hours then plug it back in, if this doesnt help you may need to recharge your refrigerant....If you have a model you can refill hope this helps
