Bought phone lg vx 9800 off ebay was able to activate and use fine for about 2 weeks then when on our way to florida turned off and when went to turn back on will load welcome screen but then continually flashes black screen took battery off over night and is still acting up would appreciate any input
Replace the battery it will no longer take a charge. it has enough power in battery to turn on but not to function. a new battery will solve your problem.

try this-
1. turn phone on
2. call *228
3. follow the instruction to automated activation system.
verizon has given me alot of **** about activating any new (or old) phone i've gotten because i dont upgrade my service. i just buy my phones off ebay for a way cheaper price.
Take the battery out of your phone with the power still on then try to make a call once you get it started back up again. If that doesn't work then Call your phone company. It's a software issue. Hope i've helped you out, sorry your having trouble with it!!!
My screen goes blank from time to time and when I turn it off and turn it back on again, it seems to re-boot itself and is fine. However, I have never had this problem with any other phone and fear my phone may be dying. It is only 1 year old and worked fine for the first 8 months I had it. But the blank screen seems to happen more frequently lately. I don't think I will buy and LG again.
