Well fist the size that it is says is creating the error is interesting. My guess is that the fault is because the picture you are trying to access is actually a GIF. If this is the case many camera software and even some of the graphic software will not read it. Try opening that picture in internet explorer and see what happens. To remove the fault what i would do is erase the picture or move it to another part of your hard drive. That way when you start the camera it will not be looking for that picture but another JPEG.

Try to upgrade or patch the software, for aspire 3610 go to ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_3610/

for aspire 5520 go to
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5520

make sure the patch or driver is compatible with your operating system.

SOURCE: how to take pictures in acer crystal eye webcam

There should be a program in the start/programs menu called acer crystaleye, the software to take pictures with the webcam is in there. (if you are running vista that came with the laptop).

SOURCE: crystal eye webcam for acer aspire 6920G says camera not found

hey, I had the same problem, I've got an Acer Aspire 6920 and I swapped out Vista that was on it for Windows XP

I went to the link you posted but it just goes to acer.com
so I figured I'd try something

if you go to acer aspire 6920 drivers, you can only pick Vista and Windows 7, and not Windows XP

instead, pick 6530 drivers (older acer) and pick the Bison driver:
http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Camera/CCD_Suyin_2.0.8.3.zip?acerid=633639858186446758&Step1=Notebook&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%206530&OS=V10&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_7

Install it (with or without installing the previous Crystal eye, doesn't matter, and it will work properly

SOURCE: Acer Crystal Eye Webcam JPEG error #52

This is usually cause by a file in your "My pictures" folder that is oversized and cannot be handle by the Crystal Eye software. Simply move all files (not sub folders) from your "My pictures" folder into a sub folder.

Crystal eye webcam

Sounds like there is another application interfering with the web cam software that is starting in your account. It would either have something to do with another video playback device/program or something trying to access the camera. Check the programs in the tray near the clock and if you have no luck there try Start -> Run -> type "msconfig" -> select the startup tab and check the list of programs starting up there.

Crystal eye webcam

Open control panel look in scanners and cameras if the camera is listed in there click on it - if it opens a preview picture and works then either you have the wrong software - it is corrupted or there is a conflict.

Acer Crystal Eye webcam

Import video is only when you have recorded a video using the webcam in a particular format and not on the fly which is what you are trying to do.

Record what you want using another application and the webcam then import the video into movie maker to edit.

Alternatively, I think you need to to go the options screen and select the default audio device. Go to control pannels and see if its there and then select the webcam as the default device for MS applications.

good luck
