That was NO power flicker, it was a surge and it took out a transformer and probably the logic board...give it up!

Unplug the DMR from AC mains socket, and replug it after 5 minutes. If this does not help you, make a factory reset to this set. Get into the user manual, and there is proceedings how to do the factory reset.

I believe your Panasonic DMR ES20 is a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and not a VCR (Video Cassette Recorder.)

It is a PDF document, so you will need Adobe Reader software (free).

I suggest you run through the set up procedures for your DVR, just as if it is a new installation. Among other steps you will need to reset the time (reset the clock.)

I just had the same problem, Tried a bunch of things, ended up just unplugging it, letting it sit for a min and plugged it back in...fixed.

I absolutely can't believe this worked for me, I'm so excited!! My error was RC3; my remote had an OK button (not Enter) for a Panasonic DVD/VHS recorder. I held down OK and the number 3 and the remote started working!! Thank you so much, I was getting very frustrated!
