Did you try to release the extension by clicking on the red button on the back of the wand? This may allow you to see what is obstructing the pathway for the wand..

You may also find Dyson's site useful: http://www.dyson.com/support.aspx

I hope that helps.

SOURCE: dyson dc25 animal: cannot remove the telescope

The hose is getting twisted on the machine and so the wand gets stuck in the hose.

1) Pull the wand out as far as you can - if you can pull it out completely, separate it from the hose and apply baby powder to the
metal rod. Stretch out the hose and unwind it. In the future, separate the wand and unwind/stretch the hose after use.
2) If you can't pull the wand out all the way, remove the canister/dirt bin from the front. Look for a gray button with 7 vertical
lines/grooves on it (it'll be just above the ball on the opposite side of the bottom hook that you wind the cable around).
3) Push the button and at the same time pull the hose out from the bottom by pulling on the hook - this will release the gray hose
from the machine. Take it off of the machine if possible (the bottom of the wand may stop you from doing so - if it does, try to pull
the wand out until you can release the hose from the bottom)
4) Pull and stretch the hose out and pull the wand at the same time - separate the wand from the hose and unwind the gray hose and
stretch it out. Rub baby powder on the metal rod of the wand and in future, disconnect the wand from the hose and stretch/unwind the
hose after every time you use the wand.

Dyson dc25 handle stuck at top of wand wont relaese

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

A jammed DC25 wand may mean that the hose was twisted when the wand was last replaced on the machine. This can prevent the wand from extending or retracting fully. The video I've attached shows you the simplest way to resolve this.

If you would like any further advice from our experts, you can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

Dyson DC25 Animal Hose Not Picking Up

      Hi Ben,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. From what you've described, it sounds as if there may be a blockage in the wand or hose. To resolve this, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

      http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc25/dc25-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/filter-washing-video

If the wand is difficult to reattach to the machine, it may be because the hose has become twisted during use. Remove the wand and allow the hose to straighten itself out before refitting the wand.

I hope this helps - if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please call our customer Helpline 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

I can't push the extension down into the hose. Just bought it and can't put it down.

      Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. The wand is designed to retract automatically down inside the hose when you replace the wand on the cleaner body. If you encounter resistance preventing the wand from retracting, remove the wand from the machine and check that the hose is not twisted.

If you require any further advice or assistance, please get in touch with us directly - you can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to provide you with the information you need. Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07 Animal. From what you've described, it sounds as if the wand has been replaced on the cleaner without the hose being retracted. To remove the wand from the machine, hold the cleaner securely in place by placing one foot on the cleaner head, then pull the wand up forcefully whilst holding the purple quick-draw hose release (located above the on/off switch) down. Make sure you are not leaning over the top of the wand as you do this.

Once you've freed the wand from the cleaner, make sure you retract the wand before replacing it on the cleaner again. Hold down the hose release button on the hose cuff as you retract the wand inside the hose.

You might find it useful to refer to the user guide supplied with the cleaner - in case you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

I have the wand open and I can't put back together

      Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. The wand is engineered to retract automatically back down inside the hose when you replace the wand assembly on the machine. You can see the correct way to do this in the user guide supplied with the cleaner - in case you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

      http://media.dyson.com/downloads/us/floorcare/manuals/dc25_opmanual_usa.pdf

If you're experiencing resistance when you try to retract the wand, check that the hose isn't twisted - this can restrict the motion of the wand, and will make it difficult to remove the wand assembly from the cleaner. In this case, do not force the wand down into place, but remove it from the machine again and allow the hose to straighten itself out before replacing it.

Hopefully this information should help you resolve your issue - however, if you're still concerned, please get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can provide further assistance. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). We'll look forward to hearing from you.

      Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having a problem with the stabilizer on your DC25. You should be able to recline the machine by stepping on the red pedal at the rear of the cleaner and lowering the upper body. The stabilizer is designed to retract automatically.

If it does not do this, please get in touch with us free, on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US), so we can run through some checks over the phone.

      Kind regards,
