I replaced the fuse in the 12v plug on my sirius sportster radio but still does not work in the car. I checked the fuses in the vehicle and they are good, I pluged other devices in to the lighter and they work fine. I use my sirius boombox and it works in the house. Just wondering what else can be the problem

SOURCE: Sirius Sportster car kit - blown fuses

Try the other adapter and see if it works without blowing the fuse. If that fuse blows also, something is wrong with the radio.

SOURCE: my fuse blows everytime i plug in my sirius radio

is that the only device that is blowing a fuse? if it is the only thing blowing your fuse you may need to replace the charger. check the fuse to make sure it is the correct size ( usually 10 amp). check the power adapter to make sure there are no loose connections or anything in the plug that doesn't belong there. unplug the radio from the adapter and plug the adapter in without the radio see if the fuse blows . if it blows replace the adapter. if it doesn't blow the fuse check the adapter to make sure it is the right one make sure the polarity is correct

No power

You blew a fuse in the car plug. Unscrew the top of the car charger and you will find a fuse inside. You can get replacement fuses at a hardware store or Radioshack.

Fuse problem

I see that you have your adapter and as far as I can tell with this type of problem you may have look at sending it back just because I think your wiring is faulty on the inside or your base station where your radio would sit...there may not be no contact on your station prongs that a connect to the radio. The docking staion connectors may be faulty and need to be replaced. I would beleive this to be relevent to the problem you just described.

Power but no signal

I work for sirius so I know about all of these different issues and the most common one is the connections. It is imperative that the radios be connected to power with the cig lighter adapter. This adapter had circuitry in it that lowers the cars 12 volts to 5 volts which the sirius unit ooerates on. The old units were 12 volt and could hard wired into the vehicles fuse block, but all of the new radios operate on 5 volts. If this is not the issue with either of you then you have defective units. Being that all warranty replacement are with remanufactured units, your chance of getting a problematic unit increases after the initial return of your new unit.

SIRUIUS SPORTSTER

Satellite radio antennas do tend to fail sometimes. In the early days of Sirius/XM they were made a lot better, but now I've had problems with them a lot more frequently. If the antenna is plugged in securely and it still shows the 'antenna' error code, you most likely need to replace your antenna. It is possible that something else along the antenna signal path is causing your problem - Sometimes the antenna connections in the dock or the receiver itself can cause the issue, but most likely it is the antenna.
