Your handset is Network locked to the original network in Canada where it was bought: if it was not a prepaid handset and you are no longer on a Plan, you can try to request the unlock code from the Canadian supplier: they may charge you a fee for it or refuse to do it.
You can always try to get the handset network unlocked for a feee by a third party professional unlocker.

To re-register DXA14588-2 handsets:

1. Pick up the handset from the base. Press and hold [find handset] on the base.

3. Pick up the handset from the base and press [talk/flash]. If the display shows TALK, the handset is registered. If not, place the handset in the base to try again.
4. Press [end].
5. Place the next handset in the base and wait for at least five seconds. No need to hold [find handset] this time.
6. Repeat steps 3 - with any other handsets you have.

I think that your remots sencer is broken that is what happend to mine when i played 2 player too long gust try to buy new remotes or it is your sencer bar so try one of them
